‘Whatever You Want’

As if announcing his first tour in three years wasn’t enough, Pink also released a new track off her upcoming seventh studio album.

‘Whatever You Want’ is the third song to be released from ‘Beautiful Trauma’, following ‘What About Us’ and the title track, ‘Beautiful Trauma.’ This album is clearly going to be very near and dear to Pink.

On Wednesday, September 27, one day before releasing ‘Beautiful Trauma,’ Pink took Twitter to reveal the motivation behind creating the song. She said in a series of tweets,

“Tomorrow I’m releasing the title track to BEAUTIFUL TRAUMA. I wrote the song with a very awesome person @jackantonoff and named the album…” she said.

“After it, b/c life is f*cking traumatic. But it’s also incredibly beautiful, too. There’s a lot of beauty still and beautiful souls. Enjoy (smile emoji)”

And seems her words describe perfectly the upcoming album. Judging by the released tracks, the album will be a perfect portrayal of how complex and beautiful life really is.

The single ‘What About Us’

The first released track, ‘What About Us’ reached over a million views on its first day. And it already has a visual video for ‘What About Us’ Pink delivered quite an emotional video for the song that already has over 70 million views on YouTube and counting.

The singer has had 15 singles in Billboard’s Top 10, and ‘What About Us’ is her fifth pop song to hit No. 1, joining ‘There You Go,’ ‘F–kin’ Perfect,’ ‘So What’ and the Nate Ruess collaboration ‘Just Give Me a Reason.’

Also hitting No. 1 was her recent duet with Kenny Chesney, ‘Setting the World on Fire.’ The song, her first country chart-topper, got Pink her 18th Grammy nomination (she’s won three).

‘Whatever You Want’ is now available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, and Amazon Music.

Upcoming documentary coming up

And to top it all off, the singer also announced a documentary about the making of the album in a partnership with Apple Music.

In the upcoming documentary entitled ‘On The Record’  the singer lays herself completely bare to her fans and explains the creative process that led to her album ‘Beautiful Trauma,’ as well as her comeback after four years away from the music scene.

In the trailer, Pink is first seen sitting in the studio wearing a sweatshirt with Kurt Cobain smoking pictured on the front.

“Making an album,” she says, “it’s so many moving pieces. It’s a lot of parts. The studio sessions and you write the songs, and then you have to finish the songs,” she explains.

“Someone’s in New York and someone’s in Philadelphia, and maybe there’s a choir in Philadelphia. Then, it’s photo shoots. Video shoots.”

“You’re in dance rehearsals and maybe you’re on a festival tour at the same time over here, and you’re getting ready for your regular tour so it’s rehearsals and it’s putting on shows,” she adds.

“Then, your six-year-old has surf camp, and your eight-year-old has a vaccination. And then, your album is out.”

This has been a huge year for Pink, aside from all these announcements.

She performed at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival, received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards, and made an inspiring acceptance speech that made headlines for all the right reasons.

The film will be available through the streaming service on October 13 as well.
