An amazing trip down memory lane
Julia Roberts took a trip down memory lane on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden. The actress and the comedian acted out some of her most iconic roles.
The pair went into a lightning round of 26 short skits in less than 10 minutes. They played ‘Role Call,’ and they condensed a career spanning 30 years and lots of movie roles.
They kicked off with ‘Nothing Hill’ and continued to some of Roberts’ most popular films like ‘Pretty Woman,’ ‘Erin Brockovich,’ and ‘Flatliners,’ rapidly changing costumes and props.
Previous ‘Role Call’ participants include Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Matt Damon.
Roberts and Corden saved the very best for the end and concluded the segment by reenacting ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ and singing a duet of ‘I Say A Little Prayer.’
Luckily, we still got lots of Julia Roberts’ amazing acting to watch. Including her upcoming November movie ‘Wonder,’ which is set to release on November 17.
Hitting the small screen
The actress is set to star in a new drama series, Homecoming,’ which was ordered by Amazon last July.
‘Homecoming’ is an adaptation of the fictional podcast of the same name from Gimlet Media, which launched this past November.
The series was penned by ‘Mr. Robot’ creator Sam Esmail. The political thriller centers on a caseworker at a secret government facility, her supervisor, and a soldier. The actress is in talks to play the government caseworker.
Sam Esmail is directing and producing the series. Executive producers include Chad Hamilton Eli Horowitz, Micah Bloomberg, Alicia Van Couvering, Chris Giliberti, Alex Blumberg and Matt Lieber.
This way Roberts follows the footsteps of other household names that have recently moved into the small screen, including Matthew McCoughnaghey, Reese Witherspoon and more recently Jennifer Aniston.
‘Homecoming’” is the second TV project for Roberts to get a green light this summer.
Last May HBO ordered, ‘Today Will be Different,’ a miniseries based on the book of the same name from author Maria Semple who is also penning the TV adaptation with Annapurna Television is producing.
