During its second week, “Lego Batman” remains as number one, reaching $100 million this weekend by making $40 million, while “Fifty Shades Darker” remains N. 2 with projections of making $20 million during the weekend.

Numbers don’t look so good for the premiered titles which have earning projections of $19 million for “The Great Wall,” $13 million for “Fist Fight” and a short  $5 million for “A Cure For Wellness.”

New titles struggling to get in.

The epic story starring Matt Damon was directed by Zhang Yimou’s, whose “The Great Wall” seems to be crumbling on its weekend debut. The production of $150 million budget has only gathered $6.8 million so far and is set to gather other $19 million during the weekend.

The story follows a group of mercenaries searching for black powder who end up defending the Wall of China against monstrous creatures. The movie is the first American production filmed entirely in China it also stars Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau.

Stepping up the marketing game.

On the other hand Gore Verbinski’s “A Cure For Wellness” is having a soft opening with only $5 million earning projections. The horror film follows a young executive’s trip to retrieve the company’s CEO in a spa in the Swiss Alps and finding himself in a real nightmare.

The film starring Dane DeHaan made headlines this week after teaming up with news providers and spreading “faux news” of Trump and Putin meeting at a resort, clearly referenced in the film. Fox apologized on Thursday making of the misunderstanding a clear push for the move.
