USA’s Suits comes back for the eighth season and without co-stars Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle. As we all know, Meghan just became the Duchess of Sussex last month by marrying Prince Harry. This obviously tells us she’s not going to be a part of the cast anymore. While Patrick simply wanted to take a break from his life as an actor and be at home with his wife, Troian Bellisario.
Suits return to our screens!
In the series, Rachel Zane (Markle) and Mike Ross (Adams) get married as well, and they accept the opportunity of running a firm together in Seattle, giving a kind of closure to their roles in the series. But what will happen next?
Two promos have been released. One makes the public know that Mike and Rachel are, indeed, gone, leaving Harvey Specter, Louis Litt, and Donna Paulsen in charge of the story. We can also see how Alex Williams and Robert Zane get even more involved in the plot and the fact that the firm’s new name is Zane Specter Litt. And as two characters leave, a new one played by Katherine Heigl joins the cast.
“I’m Samantha Wheeler, I work with Harvey”
We all know Heigl from Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Izzie Stevens, 27 Dresses as Jane, The Ugly Truth as Abby, and Knocked Up as Alison Scott. Now she comes back as Zane Specter Litt’s newest partner, Samantha Wheeler. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how this character will affect the firm and the series in general, for what it seems, none of her co-workers likes or trusts her (not that she cares).
This might be a dangerous move for the series because the story revolves around both Harvey and Mike, but let’s see if they can manage to surprise us with something new and cool, and hope for the best.
The show will return for season eight this July 18th on USA Network.
