New York Fashion Week kicked off last week and it’s bringing so much to talk about. Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, made her debut in the catwalk.
The anticipated week brought together celebrities, designers, and fashion royalty to the event of the season.
Like mother, like daughter
With Cindy Crawford as her mother and mentor, Kaia Gerber is fashion royalty at age 16.
She’s already the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty, has appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue. She has even been seen leaving a Fashion Week fitting at Alexander Wang.
Now that she’s old enough to walk in fashion shows, industry insiders predicted she would make her runway debut this week. On Thursday night, she walked her first runway at Calvin Klein.
Gerber walked in Raf Simon’s Spring 2018 show for Calvin Klein in a bright, color-blocked jacket and pants.
The “Urban Cowboy” look was quintessential updated Calvin, with a teal turtleneck and neon yellow pants under a double-breasted jacket.
Although styles may have changed since her mother’s time on the runways, Gerber followed in her footsteps and chose a classic American designer for her debut.
Following her catwalk debut, she shared the final look with her 1.6 million Instagram followers. “CALVIN KLEIN! there are no words to describe how I feel, I love you endlessly Raf!” she wrote
Kaia’s mom Cindy Crawford also shared a message on Instagram.

Kaia Gerber continued to rule fashion week during the Alexander Wang show. For the designer’s presentation, he along with the models traveled on a bus to multiple NYC locations. Finally, arriving at the #WangFest in Brooklyn.
Christian Siriano had lots to smile about after his runway show with Gina Gershon, Danielle Brooks, Leslie Jones, Cardi B and Patricia Clarkson.
Selena Gomez and Jared Leto’s Saturday night was extra glam at the Business of Fashion’s #BoF500 Gala at the Public Hotel in NYC.
Philipp Plein had quite the show in NYC. The designer brought out Adriana Lima and Irina Shayk as well as Future, Teyana Taylor and Nicki Minaj to take over the Hammerstein Ballroom.
