Universal released the official first teaser of ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ on Sunday, and it’s both steamy and dark. The clip gives a sneak peek of what’s to come on Christian and Ana’s way.
Following the tradition of the previous installments, the movie will premiere on Valentine’s Day 2018.
Teasing fans
Universal Pictures released a teaser for ‘Fifty Shades Freed‘ on Sunday. Giving a peek at the upcoming film featuring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan reprising their roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele – and this time, they’re armed.
The brief, minute-long teaser starts with Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey reading his vows to Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele as the two get married.
From there, it’s off in his, or rather their, private jet for a romantic and sexy honeymoon. However, things aren’t all that happily ever after for the BDSM-centre couple.
The teaser shows brief glimpses of a shirtless Christian while Anastasia lounges by the water ogling him.
Naturally, there are some teased sex scenes as well with the two of them up to their riding crop antics.
However, the real meat of the trailer comes in the provocative danger that seems to be lurking in the shadows.
The climactic third installment in the trilogy will see Anastasia deal with guns, being held at knife-point and what appears to be a car chase.
Wait until November
The studio also released promotional art for the film Sunday. It shows Anna standing at the forefront of a gorgeous ivory balcony in a wedding gown, with the tagline, ‘Mrs. Grey will see you now,’ a riff on an ad for the original film that read, ‘Mr. Grey will see you now.
A more extended trailer is set to hit theaters in November. The third installment follows on the heels of 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey and this year’s ‘Fifty Shades Darker’, which has taken in a massive $949.8 million in box office receipts.
Some of the scenes in the movie were filmed in Nice, France during the summer of 2016. A terrorist attack took place in the city July 14 amid Bastille Day celebrations, leaving 86 people dead.
Producer Dana Brunetti took to Facebook that day to let people know that the cast and crew were unharmed in the wake of the deadly incident. He wrote, “Production has confirmed that everyone working on location in the south of France is okay.”
The film is the adaptation of the third novel in author EL James’s erotic trilogy and will mark the final installment of the series.
‘Fifty Shades Freed’, directed by James Foley, hits theaters Valentine’s Day 2018.
