Coming together to help in moments of need. Tom Hardy started an online fundraising campaign to help those affected by the Manchester Arena bombing. So far there has been announced 22 people dead. The Manchester attack victims include an 8-year-old girl named Saffie Rose Roussos and a 14-year old girl named Sorrell Leczkowski.
The Venom actor along with some help, have already reached almost half his goal. Celebrities and people have come together to help in this difficult time.
In difficult times, we stay together
The world was shaken after learning the terrible news of the Manchester Arena bombing on Monday. However, people quickly came together to help those in needs.
On Tuesday, the Venom actor started the Manchester Emergency Fund, an online fundraising campaign via JustGiving.
The British actor hopes to raise £15,000 (just under $20,000), for the British Red Cross Society. On Wednesday the campaign had raised £5,564, which is 44% of the target goal.
Hardy shared some words on the campaign page, he called the tragedy and atrocity and said, “I am truly saddened by what I have witnessed and there is no doubt that Terrorism is an evil thing.”
In the heartfelt, the Mad Max actor went on expressing how he expects to raise some funds as a gesture of goodwill and love to help in a small way those affected by the tragedy.
The actor also condemned the devastating acts and expressed his love and support to those who lost a loved one.
Finally, he added: “And it is with those, the innocent victims and the witnesses of this atrocity that my heartfelt concern and deepest sympathy lie.”
Expressions of love and support
The tragic attack following Ariana Grande‘s concert at Manchester Arena on Monday took the lives of 22 people and 59 people injured, including kids, teens, and adults.
After the attack, Ariana took to Twitter to expressed how broken she was by the incident. She wrote: “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have the words.”
Ariana has reportedly offered to pay for the funerals of the victims as a pledged to help the families that lost a loved one in the tragic incident.
Manchester native Noel Gallagher recently posted a tribute to victims online, following similar tributes from artists like Johnny Marr, Taylor Swift, Liam Gallagher, Katy Perry, Harry Styles and much more.
Following the attack, over half a million pounds has been raised for the victims and their families. A local blood bank also received an incredible amount of donors in the wake of the attack. People joined in the desire to help in some way.
