Radiohead Is Suing Lana Del Rey For Allegedly Plagiarism Of ‘Creep’

Lana del Rey’s Alleged Plagiarism Goes Viral

The rumors circulated through the network, but on Sunday afternoon the singer herself has confirmed on her Twitter account that she has received a demand for plagiarism from Radiohead.
It’s true about the lawsuit. Although I know my song was inspired by Creep, Radiohead feels it was. They want 100% of the publishing. I have up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless. So we will deal with it in court.”

Get Free and Creep one of the same

The beginning of these rumors began after the publication of “Lust For Life”. Del Rey’s latest work that went directly to number one in the tops. The resemblance between “Get Free” and the subject that was in a boom in 1993 of the British band Radiohead “Creep”. The talks between the two representatives have not taken any positive step. It seems that the courts will decide if indeed, Lana del Rey was too inspired by the theme of the 90s.

“Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court,” Del Rey added.

Copyright again?

According to BBC, Radiohead was sued for similarities of this same song “Creep” with “The Air I Breathe” by The Hollies. After this, Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood were later named as co-writers of the songs and divided the regalia with the band. What irony they accuse of plagiarism when this British band has already gone through that.

Radiohead is not a silent band that avoids public arguments. They participated in a public dispute last year with film director Ken Loach. All after urging them to cancel their concert in Tel Aviv, Israel for political reasons.
This copyright is giving a lot to talk about. Did the idea go to Lana del Rey? Or I just wanted to make your job a little easier. We’ll leave the job to the courts to find out if Del Rey really has been too inspired by “Creep” or if it’s just a great coincidence that the songs are so similar.
