John Mayer Dances with Pandas In ‘Still Feel Like Your Man’ Video

Oh John, How Do You Manage To Be So Odd And Hot?

John Mayer said goodbye to the soft tones and mellow videos by dropping a totally groovy song. On Wednesday, the singer released the video of “Still Feel Like Your Man”, and it’s both colorful and full of dance moves.

Mayer is currently in his The Search for Everything tour, his seventh studio album which will be launched on April the 14th. Until that day please enjoy the dancing pandas in this disco dojo and John’s smooth moves.

Still Feel Like Your Man.

Kimonos, dancing pandas and dance moves, they’re all in on John’s new video. The songwriter decided to please the fans and showed some of his dance moves on his newest video. Although the song was released in February the video was just released on Wednesday, April 5th. And it’s the perfect Asian disco dojo fantasy.

Brand new John

Well, John still sings about heartbreaks but at least he’s dancing to it, and we love it. John said goodbye to the soft toned music videos and made some moves on “Still Feel Like Your Man.”

This Asian fantasy follows John arriving to what he called a “disco dojo” and gets in a dance battle of some sort. Giant pandas are his sidekicks and deliver some cool moves. Finally you learn that he gains a wooden case that keeps a butterfly.

Mellow songs about a girl.

Earlier this year John admitted that The Search of Everything is inspired by his relationship with former grilfriend Katy Perry. Even when we know he’s keeping her shampoo in his shower there’s no hint nor refeence of Katy in the video.

Instead twe can see John is taking the separation by dancing to Lisa Eaton’s choreography in this disco dojo set. The video was directed by Mister Whitmore, who along with Mayer “thought long and hard about how to approach” the clip’s “fantasy element” without offending anyone.

Antitipating the blacklash.

In a recent interview with The New York Times John said the relazed pop melody reminded him of a musical style that doesn’t exists but he really eanted to higlight visually, the “ancient Japanese R&B.” And we can sure see the influence on the video.

John anticipated the potential blacklash of cultural-appropriation and said, “Part of cultural appropriation is blindness. I’m on the right side of the line because it’s an idea for the video that has a very multiethnic casting, and nobody who is white or non-Asian is playing an Asian person … I think we were as sensitive as we could possibly be. We discussed it at every juncture.”

New video and tour.

John announced the video release via Twitter and adressed the atention to his dance moves rather than potential criticism.

The singer continues his tour The Search for Everything which already had its first superstar guest. Shawn Mendes stopped by and along with John, dropped a cool mash-up of Mercy and In Your Atmosphere. John’s album The Search For Everything is out on April 14.
