Alec Baldwin Faces PR Fiasco After The Whole Underage Nikki Reed Drama

Honestly, What’s Even The Point To Bring This Up?

Alec Baldwin ignited a debate after claiming he didn’t know Nikki Reed was underage when filming an R-rated indie movie in 2006. One of the film’s producers stated via Twitter the opposite, and so the drama started.

The book published on Tuesday includes memories of Mini’s First Time, a 2006 movie in which Baldwin engages in sex scenes with his step-daughter played by Nikki Reed.

Nevertheless

Alec Baldwin published his memoirs on Tuesday. Among the subjects in his book Nevertheless, there’s the subject of the 2006 indie film “Mini’s First Time.”In the movie,  Alec’s character has an affair with his stepdaughter, Nikki Reed, who plays a bored high school senior who decides to give sex work a try, naturally they engage in sex scenes.

Eleven years later, Baldwin talked about it in his memoirs, he said, “I was 47, and it never occurred to me to ask how old Nikki Reed was. When I found out, just as we finished, that she was 17, I flipped out on the producers, who had told me something different.”

Wrapping it up, Alec claimed to be unaware of Nikki’s age and yelling at the producers after learning about it. After all, we’re talking about an underage and sex.

I don’t think so, pal.

Right after learning Baldwin’s claims of being misled by the producers about the age of his co-star Nikki Reed, one of the film’s producer stepped in to get things straight.

Dana Brunetti, who was considered the most hated executive in Hollywood by Vanity Fair last year, said Baldwin was lying about his knowledge of Reed’s age in his memoir.

In an epic 11-Tweet thread, the producer stated that the actor was completely aware of Nikki’s age. She also claimed that Reed was handpicked among 4  actresses and was the only one repped by Alec’s agency CAA.

The producer then states that Nikki’s age was no secret on the set, in fact, it was something positive for the production since  “it meant we couldn’t be pressured into shooting scenes with nudity, which was a real issue with the subject matter and the rather unusual cast of characters we were dealing with.”

Brunetti also stated, “If Baldwin had simply said in his book he didn’t know Reed’s age, I would let it go. However to say that when he found out after filming he yelled at the producers (I being one on the film) makes it out to seem we did wrong.”

Under California law, nudity under 18 is potentially allowable though it would need the approval of the Child Labor Board. Since the movie involved sex scenes between Baldwin and Reed, nudity wouldn’t be approved.

Finally, Brunetti suggested that maybe Alec has played Trump character for too long and got caught up in the method and doesn’t know the difference between fake news anymore.

Backing her up.

Brunetti’s statements were backed up by the film’s producer Evan Astrowsky, who said,  “What Alec says happened is not accurate. I completely corroborate that. We were on set every day. The thing that Alec must remember is that Mini, played by Nikki, is a sophomore in high school. I don’t know what else to say, except Alec, watch the movie. As for yelling at us after the movie, it absolutely never happened.”

Then the film’s director, Nick Guthe backed up the producers by saying, “We all knew she was 16. When we discussed it at first, it was a question of meeting with her and making sure she was mature enough to handle the role. On the set, Nikki, being 16, would often speak quickly the way teenagers do, and Alec asked me about that at times because he had trouble understanding her, and I would remind him, ‘She’s 16.’”

In fact, Baldwin’s story is kinda shady, he even got his age incorrect, he was 46 when the film was shot in October 2004.

Brunetti, who is president of Kevin Spacey’s production company, Trigger Street Production, which produced Mini’s First Time pointed out that what bothered her was the fact that Baldwin would malign the producer’s reputations.

She said to the Hollywood Reporter, “If he had just said, ‘I didn’t know her age,’ I would have thought, ‘He’s a liar,’ and let it go. But when he blamed the producers, I couldn’t let it go. It [makes us look like] we did something unethical or shady or hid something. It makes me look bad. It makes Evan look bad. Does he realize Kevin was a producer?”

The drama continued on Twitter after Baldwin declined to comment but tweeted,  “SAG rules require releases for scenes involving physical contact with minors. I take you have a copy of that?”

The actor who is the president of the Film Actors Guild and the producer continued the back and forth on the social media. Brunetti finally stated that “The problem with Hollywood is they cover to blowhard bullies like @ABFalecbaldwin. He can’t handle when someone like me stands up to him.”

Nor Spacey nor Reed have stated about the incident.
