Will & Grace is making a huge comeback to the NBC screen. The show will be returning for a 10 episodes season, but it might be more. The sitcom was rumored to return but a former cast member made it official for this year.
Leslie Jordan, who played Beverly, shared the exciting news during an interview on KPBS. The actor said, “It was a huge part of my life and then I won the Emmy and it’s back.” The show will be broadcasted in July and the guest cast will be part of it as well.
#VoteHoney was the wake-up call.
The video of the cast encouraging people to vote had more than six million views, people were going crazy about it, everyone was asking for a reunion, the producers realized the success of the show and decided to make it official.
It’s a reunion of old friends.
Debre Messing (Grace), Eric McCormack (Will) the titulars, Megan Mullally (Karen) and Sean Hayes (Jack) their co-stars are already cast for the comeback, however, the guest cast hasn’t received any notifications, although they are sure their roles will make appearances “I’ll get a phone call – I’m not a regular.” said Leslie who played Karen’s sexually ambiguous rival.
Will & Grace made a name for the actors.
Jordan revealed that his signature role that appeared 11 times during 2001 and 2006 made him one of the biggest names in the business. But Leslie wasn’t the only huge actor playing a guest member of the show, Debbie Reynolds appeared several times playing Grace’s mother, who’s part was written for her.
They are putting a lot of effort into it.
The show is in front of an audience, so there isn’t room for mistakes. “There’s zero improvisation. People think we probably get to tell jokes – no, no, no.” Leslie said.
The producers are behind the project.
Unlike other show’s comebacks, this one will be transmitted on NBC, and not on an online website. Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, the creators and producers of the show have been planning a reunion since last year, but at the time Megan refused to do it. We don’t know what changed but we are flipping’ out.
More seasons might be on the plans.
The gay lawyer Will and his best friend Grace were on air from 1998 till 2006, but eight seasons wasn’t enough. McCormack “We definitely gave the show the end it deserved and it also took away the temptation to go back to that because I think we would only damage what we did at the end.” There are plans for three more seasons, but they are being discussed.
We are loving it!.
The mini-series is a comedy classic and fans can’t’ contain their excitement over the news.
