The Canadian singer-songwriter and producer, Mac DeMarco announced on Wednesday through a statement that he’ll be having his own record label with a very simple name.
Hi, it’s Mac. We’re starting a record label; it’s called ‘Mac’s Record Label.’ My friend Jen who plays drums in The Courtneys gave me the name.
Mac’s Record Label will be distributed by Universal Music’s Caroline. And if you thought this wasn’t a real thing, here’s the label’s official website, plus some dates if you click the logo.
Yes, this means new music is coming soon and, guess what? Another tour! Just after the band tour finishes, the “Mac DeMarco Purple Bobcat Next to River Solo Tour” will begin! And there’s more.
Brace yourself, California, because the first thing to happen here is that Mac’s on this year’s Tropicalia Music & Taco Festival‘s line up, with Cardi B, Morrissey, and Devendra Banhart. That’s the first show of his solo tour.
For now, we’ll leave the solo tour dates over here.
