Madame Tussauds is under fire after it unveiled its new Beyonce wax figure at its New York museum. The legendary wax museum was even accused of whitewashing the sculpture by fans since the figure looks nothing like Beyonce.
This week was also unveiled Kylie Jenner’s wax figure, and it looks frighteningly like the star, adding insult to Bey fans’ injuries.
Madame Tussauds and Beyonce facing controversy
Beyonce‘s latest wax figure was unveiled on Wednesday in New York, and fans are not having it.
The famous chain of wax-figure museums unveiled the Queen figure via a Tweet. In all fairness, the figure looks nothing like Beyonce starting by the facial expressions and the complexion which are far for being Bey’s.On top of that, the figure looks rather light-skinned prompting fans to accuse the museum of whitewashing.
The Beyhive has been buzzing with outrage pointing out how little the figure resembled Queen Bey herself.
“I think this is the most disgusting, disrespectful wax figure of Beyoncé ever,” one fan tweeted.
Many also made comparisons between the wax figure and famous white women, like Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilera and Kate Gosselin. We all knew the icon was one of a kind, but now it’s really clear that Beyoncé is impossible to recreate.
As fans expressed their outrage over the terrible figure they found that Bey’s wax figures actually look nothing like her.
The previously unveiled figures really have no resemblance to the Queen, however, the whitewashing accusation makes it even worse for MadamTussaudsds. In fairness to Madame Tussauds, not all of their representations of Beyoncé are as bad as their Orlando one, with the museum unveiling a servicable statue of the star in London in 2014.
This Twitter frenzy came on the heels of the singer recently setting social media a buzz when she posted the first photos of her two new babies, Rumi and Sir Carter.

The Museum’s Defense And Previous Controversies
While caught up in the controversy the iconic wax-figure museum defended their work and tried to discard the whitewash accussation with a statement. “Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted.,” it started.
“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures,” said in a statement to E! News.
The Beyoncé wax figure isn’t the first time that Madame Tussaud‘s came under fire. In 2015, they launched a Nicki Minaj figure that looked like the singer, but was posed crawling on the ground in a suggestive pose that angered and offended many.
Ryan Gosling‘s wax figure premiered in Berlin and had many fans scared to death because of the scary features that made Gosling look like a serial killer instead of a heartthrob.
Other figures that look nothing like the artists are Selena Gomez, J.Lo, and Justin Bieber.
Kylie Jenner Didn’t Had Issues With Its Wax Figure
Madame Tussauds unveiled a wax figure of Kylie Jenner in Hollywood Tuesday night, and at first glance, it’s tough to tell them apart. The ‘Life of Kylie’ star attended the unveiling of her wax figure in Hollywood Tuesday night.
After counting down from five, the curtain dropped and she got her first look at the finished work of art.In February, the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s star announced she was going to be immortalized in wax by sharing behind-the-scenes videos of herself getting measured.
Jenner explained that the detailed process of creating a wax figure takes half a year to complete. Jenner’s wax figure is valued at $350,000, according to a press release.
The Kylie cosmetics entrepreneur follows in the footsteps of sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kendall Jenner, as well as brother-in-law Kanye West — all of whom have wax figures at the popular institution. Kylie’s figure is so much like her that the reality star even pranked her family.
Kylie Jenner put one over on her famous family during a recent prank call with a little help from her newly-created Madame Tussauds wax figure.
“I made her FaceTime my whole family … fooled everyone,” the ‘Life of Kylie’ star, shared on Instagram Tuesday, along with a Snapchat selfie of the lookalike creation.
“My wax figure is here. This is so creepy,” Jenner said in a video shared on Snapchat. “I donated the actual dress I wore to the Met so you can come see it,” she explained in another short clip.
