YouTube’s annual “Rewind” video was released on Wednesday. The mashup features a bunch of viral stars as this year’s theme is “Rewind Reality”. In the video, the stars recreated the greatest trends of 2016 and the most infamous too.
The music composition is made out of the biggest hits of the year, includes songs from Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, Ghost Town DJs, The Chainsmokers, Fifth Harmony and Nicky Jam. You listen to parts of the songs several times since the video lasts 6:52 minutes.
The video is a massive production.
“Rewind” was shot in 18 countries and features a total of 200 people that were already famous or rose to fame this year. You go trough every single viral challenge of this year like the “mannequin challenge” or “water bottle flip”. They also made fun of videos like “Work” from Fifth Harmony and “Famous” by Kanye West.
They show us the highlights of the year.
Covering everything from music, trends, memes, characters from 2016 with appearances from the main YouTubers and celebrities. Just like Pokemon Go, they look around for rewind buttons that take them into this year’s biggest trends. Here we can see Mexican guru, Yuya looking for those rewinds.

James Coden appeared in the video with his famous segment tha had everyone going crazy this year.
They include the most watched videos of 2016.
Every year a list of the videos with more views is released, and this year’s “Rewind” included a couple of them. Carpool Karaoke with Adele, “This Is What You Came For” by Calvin Harris and Rihanna, Nicky Jam’s “Hasta El Amanecer” and The Chainsmokers “Closer”.
It had stars from all over the world.
