‘Pokemon GO!’ creators are developing a ‘Harry Potter’ AR game. Niantic announced the exciting news. The game is set to be released sometime next year.

Brace yourselves, Harry Potter’s game is coming
Game studio Niantic, the helmers of ‘Pokemon GO!,’ announced it will partner with Warner Bros. on a mobile augmented reality game based on the Harry Potter universe.
Titled ‘Harry Potter: Wizards Unite,’ the game is expected to launch next year.
“Our goal is to leverage technology to create real-world experiences. That helps people to discover the wonderful and often magical parts of the world around them,” said Niantic founder and CEO John Hanke in a statement.
“Players will learn spells, explore their real-world neighborhoods and cities to discover. Also, fight legendary beasts and team up with others to take down powerful enemies”
Reportedly, the upcoming Harry Potter game is set to follow a similar style of play that made ‘Pokemon GO!‘ so widely successful. So prepare to see fans wearing cloaths and wizard hats.
When ‘Pokemon GO!’ launched back in July 2016, it sent fans into a frenzy and reportedly earned more than $200 million during its first 30 days. Setting a record for mobile games.
According to Warner, ‘Harry Potter: Wizards Unite’ is just one of several new games based on the iconic JK Rowling book series.
These new games will all be released under a new label – Portkey Games – so-named because Portkeys transport wizards from place to place in the books.
