Priyanka Chopra Attacked For ‘Showing Legs’ To India’s PM

It’s Crazy To Think That Even In 2017 Women Have To Worry About This Issues

Baywatch actress Priyanka Chopra delivered the best response for trolls on Wednesday and showed her legs once again. The response came after haters attacked her on Tuesday, for wearing a knee-length dress during a meeting with India PM.

Chopra was criticised for her clothes

Former Miss Wolrd and actress Priyanka Chopra is currently quite busy promoting her new movie Baywatch. The actress has hit the red carpet around the world and mesmerize us with her chic and elegant style.Chopra has already been in Miami, New York and more recently Berlin. In the German city, the actress had the opportunity to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and have a chat.

Chopra and the Prime Minister met on Tuesday and she didn’t hesitate to share the exciting moment on Facebook. The actress posted a picture of her sitting quite elegantly with the Prime Minister while having a chat. She captioned it, “Such a lovely coincidence to be in Berlin the same time as the Prime Minister. Thank yo, Narendra Modi, sir, for taking the time from your packed schedule to meet me this morning.”

The picture drew the attention of conservationist and traditionalists who quickly claimed Chopra was disrespecting the Prime Minister. The actress was accused of “disrespecting” the prime minister by wearing a knee-length dress revealing her lower legs during an audience with Modi in Berlin.

People had issues with the way she was sitting, cross-legged, and the dress she was wearing, which was knee-length. Some claimed she disrespected the politician by not covering herself up.While some people continued to attack her, some others came to her defense, saying she was being elegant and that the dress was totally proper.

But Chopra’s response was smart

Chopra didn’t personally respond people’s comments and didn’t say anything about it. Clearly stirred by the reaction the picture received, hours later the actress posted a picture of her with her mother both in short dresses with the caption, “legs for days…. #itsthegenes.”

The Bollywood actress has been a champion at responding to trolls who criticize her for her body and choice of clothes.Last June, a lot of people accused Maxim India magazine of photoshopping her armpits on their magazine cover and criticized the actress for perpetuating stereotypes. Chopra responded by posting a cheeky photograph of her armpits on Instagram.

In fact, she has taken the issue to advocate for it and raise her voice about it. In different interviews, she has spoken about beauty and feminity.Chopra has also addressed the body shaming issue, for women in general and also in the industry.

Earlier this year, Chopra also spoke about being body-shamed by a Bollywood producer in her early years in the film industry and how she deals with the intensive scrutiny of her appearance.

“There’s such a false perception of what women should look like and what our body should look like, especially when we are in the business,” Chopra said in an interview on the American talk show The View.

“You put on a couple of pounds and people are like body-shaming you. It happens…So my body fluctuates, and you know what? I’m fine with it.”

A strong-willed feminist

The former Miss World describes herself as a “strong-willed feminist.” She has campaigned to close the gender pay gap in Bollywood and change attitudes toward women in her home country.“For so many years women were told to act a certain way, to dress a certain way, to think a certain way, even not to think at all,” Chopra told AFP in an interview last year.

The actress also highlighted how people react to when they hear about feminism. She also pointed out that this happens because we have misconceptions of what feminism actually is in much thanks to society. She said, “People misconstrue the word feminism. It is not hating men, or making men small.”

Priyanka then explained what feminism actually is, “It is just saying, ‘We want our independence to make our own choices the way men have done for so long.’“Chopra has been landing bigger roles in Hollywood since boosting her international profile through the spy thriller Quantico.

More recently she was cast as a villain in the newly-released Baywatch film. In the Seth Gordon remake of the 90s classic show, she starred along with Zac Efron, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, and Alexandra Daddario.Recently she shared her thoughts concerning Baywatch. She said, “It’s a massive one, a big summer blockbuster. I have seen the film, and it’s freaking funny!”

The actress also talked about her role as the villain of the movie, Victoria Leeds. “That’s the beauty of her. She doesn’t take off her shoes to go on the beach; she doesn’t like sand. She only likes to wear couture.”

They definitely share quite a chic taste in fashion.
