The ‘Baywatch’ World Premiere Was A Total Hit And Everyone Assisted The Amazing Event

It Was Held On Miami This Past May 13th

The world premiere of the upcoming action comedy ‘Baywatch’ was held on May 13th in Miami, Florida and everyone – and we mean everyone – was there.

The ceremony took place at the Lummus Park in Miami Beach and was hosted by MTV’s Josh Horowitz, who greeted every single star in the cast for the massive, outdoor world premiere of the film. A sand-colored carpet was rolled out for the stars while crowds gathered around to get a peak.

Everyone was excited to be once again in Miami. It’s not only where the film, and the original television series on which it is based is set. It is also the hometown of the lead star of the film Dwayne Johnson.

Congratulations! Thank you to a wonderful cast. #may25th #BeBaywatch @baywatchmovie #12daystogo

The Rock, who plays the role of lead lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, showed up with Zac Efron, sporting a pretty neat suit. About the film, Efron said that the cast and crew were given total freedom on the content. “We were given creative license to make it more raunchy, more sexy,” he said.

The Rock added that they were aiming to get a balance. “We wanted to make sure we nailed the tone. We also wanted to make sure that we took advantage of the rated ‘R’ platform, right? As you see in the movie, there are a lot of things that are very funny – and are clearly rated ‘R.’”

Alexandra Daddario and Priyanka Chopra also stepped out, looking stunning, both wearing sequin dresses.

Hollywood debut for the former miss

For Chopra, the night was extra-special, as she’s making her Hollywood debut with this film playing Victoria Leeds, the villain of the story. She’s especially excited about that, because it’s a completely different role than her American television debut as Alex Parish, from ‘Quantico,’ she told film critic Rajeev Masand in an interview on the red carpet.

Members of the cast of the original series also showed up

The ceremony welcomed some of the classic stars, too. David Hasselhoff, who portrayed Mitch in the ‘90s hit TV series and makes a cameo in the new film, was there, and said that he was proud of the way The Rock portrayed his character in the movie because “he’s a real guy.”

Looking amazing, as usual, Pamela Anderson joined the cast on the red carpet, wearing a long gown. Her signature role is sexy lifeguard CJ Parker in the original series. Now her character is played by Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach, who was seen chatting with Anderson.

“It’s so cool that I get to be with such an icon,” said Rohrbach. “I grew up watching ‘Baywatch,¡ so this is bizarre and crazy and great.”

'Twas a night to remember! 🎉🕺🏽🤗🌈💥🍿 @baywatchmovie

The Rock kept joking all night long

Everyone was excited to be there, but The Rock just couldn’t hold his festive mood, joking and laughing with the crowd.

“Some vodka, hold on,” he said, as he took a sip of what appeared to be bottled water, moments after posing for pictures and waving at screaming fans. “Did someone just faint?” he yelled, referring to no one in particular.

Then host Horowitz stepped out to put The Rock on the fire line. “Should we announce your candidacy?” he said, referring to Johnson’s polemic statement some days ago in an article in GQ, in which he said that a run for the White House was a “possibility.”

The actor dodged the question replying: “I’m announcing ‘Baywatch’ is going to come out.”

The film will hit theaters on May 25.
