2017 Is The Year For Changes

The MTV movie awards are going through a shifting phase. As they’ve added TV categories into the mix, morphing into the very first combined MTV Movie and TV Awards. Obviously, this includes that many new categories were developed and many others were merged. So to honor this first edition that will take place at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles the awards will be hosted by Adam Devine. What probably means tons of crazy and funny moments.

So to prepare you for this new awards, we are going to leave you 5 things you should definitely know about them. Besides that the epic thriller comedy “Get Out” is leading the race with six nominations. Being closely followed by “Beaty and the Beast” and the Netflix sensation “Stranger Things,” both with four.

5. Change of plans

Since MTV transformed the way the award works, and even how it’s called, obviously some major changes were made. As we said before, some categories were merged, others were created and some classic were left just as they’re. In the new categories that were created for this year’s edition include Show of the Year, Best Host, Best Reality Competition, Tearjerker, Next Generation, Best American Story and Best Fight Against the System (a revamped Best Fight). There’s also Best Musical Moment and Trending. Also, they’ve merged the Best Actor and Actresses category into one-ish. Since there is Best Actor in a Movie and Best Actor in a Show.

4.Engines ready for a milestone

MTV will make an exception to the norm as they will present a special Generation Award to the “Fast and the Furious” franchise. Since Vin Diesel will be the one accepting the award on behalf of the popular movies. Along with Diesel, there will also be co-stars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Jordana Brewster. Also, the car saga films will play a big role in the live music that will be on the show.

3.Cranking up the volume

It wouldn’t be an award ceremony without a few live musical performances, and less if it’s an MTV Award. So MTV got J Balvin, who will be playing alongside Camila Cabello and Pitbull their hit “Hey Ma”. To keep the “Fast and Furious” mood since the song is part of the soundtrack. Also, Noah Cyrus and Big Sean will be presenting and releasing some new music.

2.Girls and boys

One of the new things about this year is the debuting awards. Especially as MTV has blended the Best Actor and Best Actress categories into a single one. Making all of Hollywood’s most talented stars to battle against each other. The nominees for Best Actor in a Show are Mandy Moore, for “This Is Us,” Donald Glover, for “Atlanta,” Emilia Clarke, for “Game of Thrones,” Gina Rodriguez, for Jane the Virgin,” Jeffrey Dean Morgan, for “The Walking Dead,” and Millie Bobby Brown, for “Stranger Things”. On the Best Actor in a Movie, the contestants are Daniel Kaluuya, for “Get Out,” Emma Watson, for “Beauty and the Best,”

1. Emma vs Emma

One of the most iconic categories of the MTV movie awards, the Best Kiss, is still alive. This year it will face two heavyweights of pop culture. Since Emma Watson will face Emma Stone, to win the best smooch on screen Other nominees include Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome of Moonlight, Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard for Empire, and finally,  Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick for Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
