During the 2017 Grammy Awards, Metallica and Lady Gaga rocked the show with a collaboration. Lit performance at the Grammy Awards.

Unless you live in a cave, you probably heard about Gaga performing with Metallica on Sunday night at the Grammys. Well, they totally delivered a show with a rendition of “Moth In Flame.” The performance was an awesome mix of heavy metal and pop. While Metallica delivered their usual power, Gaga provided her amazing voice making a unique and totally awesome performance.

Nevertheless, Metallica had troubles on stage. The performance had technical issues, specifically James Hetfield’s microphone. The vocalist’s mic didn’t respond and eventually, he and Gaga had to share a mic which gave the performance an extra bit of rock power.

The odd group literally lit the stage and also the crowd who didn’t see it coming. At the end of the performance, Hetfield was visibly pissed as he came down the stage, but hey dude, you killed it!

Coming up with a great collab.

Maybe the collaboration seems odd to you, but it shouldn’t. Gaga is a heavy metal and especially a Metallica lover, she said to Apple Music “I went to see them live. I saw them recently and we were watching the show; those guys play better than they’ve played in their whole lives.”

The performance idea came up during a dinner with a mutual friend, Bradley Cooper. Lars Ulrich explained to Nightline, “We have a mutual friend who doesn’t live too far from here and we were at dinner six weeks ago, four weeks ago. And I said, ‘We’re doing the Grammys, would you like to join?’ And she said, ‘Yes.’ It took about 12 seconds. And that was it.” Giving Gaga is such a huge fan she couldn’t deny and accepted just about 12 seconds.

Robert Trujillo also talked about working with the pop star, he said, “By the time she [spent] what, 35 maybe 40 minutes with us, she totally got into the song, worked out an arrangement with James [Hetfield, lead vocals, and guitar], totally got a feel for the song.”

A Killing performance for killing artists.

Gaga, who delivered a killing Halftime Show at the Super Bowl, had the perfect end for a pretty cool week by performing with her idols.  Metallica on the other hand, launched their latest album “Hardwired…To Self Destruct” late last year. The band announced a US stadium tour beginning in mid-May. The band recently decided to slow down and focus on their families. After 35 years of rocking, and more to come, the band decided to make their tours two-weeks long tours so that they can take care of their families and rock out the stages they love so much.
