Calvin Harris just delivered this summer’s jam! On Friday, the DJ and producer released ‘Rollin,’ a funky song featuring rapper Future and Khalid. Calvin graced us big throughout the week, since earlier this week, he announced the release date and the list of artist collaborating on the forthcoming album.
You’ll be Rollin with this track all summer
Calvin Harris has already given us two jams and he decided to grace us with yet another one. First, it was Slide, featuring Migos and Frank Ocean, and then the summer contender Young Thung, Pharrell, and Ariana Grande team up Heatstroke.
And now we have Rollin, a syncopated jam full of piano clap-track and synth in what’s the absolute summer ode to highway cruising. The song smooths as Khalid and Future trade the verses with their signature and totally different styles that totally complement each other, and deliver this cool jam.
And it goes like this, “I’ve been rollin’ on the freeway/ I’ve been riding 85/ I’ve been thinking way too much/ And I’m way too gone to drive/ I got into in my chest/ I got milkings on my mind/ And you didn’t fit the picture/ So I guess you weren’t the vibe.”
Calvin keeps shocking us with his work
First, he delivered two major hits that blew our minds, Slide feat Migos followed by Heatstroke. And just when you thought it couldn’t get better he not only delivered a new track but delivered huge news in the same week.
Calvin shocked fans on May 9 when he announced his new album would be coming out on June 30. The album, titled Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, brings brand new material after his 2014’s Motions. The album properly fits the title as we’ve heard the funkiest songs in the last months, including the singles Slide and Heatstroke.
Calvin also dropped some big exciting news. In a teaser clip for the album, he revealed other guests on the album and are no less that the A-list in the music business.
Travis Scott, Kehlani, Katy Perry, Big Sean, John Legend, Schoolboy Q, D.R.A.M., Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty, Jessie Reyez, PartyNextDoor and Snoop Dogg, will all feature in the upcoming album.
Calvin Harris is more than ready to make our summer with the funkiest and coolest songs. He’s also nominated for the Billboard Music Awards in two categories: Top Dance/Electronic artist, and also for Top Dance/Electronic Song for his collaboration with Rihanna, This is What You Came For.
Lucky us, we won’t have to listen to that one anymore since he’s dropping new cooler music on June 30.
