And your 2017 Billboard Music Awards hosts are…Vanessa Hudgens and Ludacris! That’s right, confirmed they’re hitting the stage together on the big night via Instagram on Friday.
The Billboard Music Awards come this year reloaded with brand new music and crazy performances on May 21.
Good news for Vanessa Hudgens
It’s a week of ups and downs for Vanessa, recently her show Powerless, which followed her as a Wayne company employee creating cool products for powerless people, was canceled.Along with Powerless, NBC canceled Emerald City and For God & Country and Rise, as the network made official on May 10.
However, Vanessa Hudgens already has a new gig and it’s quite a good one. On Friday, Billboard confirmed the actress is joining Ludacris for hosting the upcoming Billboard Music Awards on May 21.
Vanessa will fill in for last year’s co-host, Ciara, for the first time in the position. She will join Ludacris who’s the MC for the night for the fourth time.
They both took to Instagram to celebrate the announcement. Vanessa shared a promotional video announcing the big news, while Ludacris shared a picture and wrote, “I’M BACK FOR YEAR NUMBER 4 so I must be doing something right!”
Last April, Vanessa released the official music video for the song Reminding Me, which is a collaboration with Shawn Hook. The duo recently played the track on Te Today Show.
The song is Vanessa’s first music project since she played Rizzo in Grease: Live! last year.
What’s to come!
The big night will take place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Sunday, May 21. The event will be aired live and will gather once again the very best from music.
This year’s show is expected to bring once again a round of superstar performances and unexpected collaborations including shows from Bruno Mars, Lorde, Camila Cabello, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus debuting her new single Malibu.
The EDM duo The Chainsmokers are set to perform their new hit, Young. Halsey is performing her single Now Or Never from her forthcoming album, and Sam Hunt will perform his hit Body Like a Back Road, which is No. 1 Billboard Hot Country Song.
John Legend is also hitting the stage performing alongside Florida Georgia Line for a superstar duet which will bring a mix of country and soul-pop styles in a cover mashup of Florida Georgia Line’s H.O.L.Y. and Legend’s Surefire.
But all the fun is not only taking place during the show since there’s the magenta carpet and also the pre-show. Some of the names that are hosting the pre-show are Jessie James Decker, Chris Daughtry, AJ Gibson, Jeannie Mai, Laura Marano, and Sway.
