Fergie’s Album Reaches #1 And Kendall Jenner Stars At Her ‘Enchanté’ Video

The Singer Broke Into Tears When She Found Out

Fergie dropped her new album ‘Double Dutchess’ on Thursday. The singer adorably broke into tears during her performance on The Today Show when she found out the album is #1 on iTunes.

Fergie also unveiled the video for her song ‘Enchanté’ which features Kendall Jenner and her clones. Congrats, Fergie!

A doppelganger story

There are a whole lot of Kendall Jenner‘s in Fergie’s new music video for her song, ‘Enchanté.’

The music video was released on Friday in conjunction with the pop star’s second studio album, ‘Double Dutchess’. It features the model frolicking around a house in a series of high-fashion, often brightly-colored outfits.

The video begins with Fergie’s 4-year-old son, Axl Jack, who adorably sings the chorus (in French!) as Kendall wakes up in a pink single bed.

As the video continues, the 21-year-old model goes through countless outfit changes and encounters multiple clones of herself as she walks through a dollhouse-like home.

At some points, there are three versions of Jenner doing different things like dancing, playing an instrument or applying makeup — and the images all play on a loop.

Earlier this week, Fergie spoke to ET about how Jenner came to star in her music video.

“We had this kind of random moment at Coachella, we ended up in this car … going to this party,” she recalled.

“We’re just in this car and we’re playing music and the sun was going down …I remember filming, she was lip-syncing to a song and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, she has like an inner pop star inside of her.'”

As for Jenner’s role in the music video, Fergie added, “I just wanted her to do her and she did. She did, she rocked it out.”

Fergie got inspired by Carine Roitfeld

The song’s French-language chorus and stylish video (as well as its subtitle) were inspired by noted fashion editor Carine Roitfeld, formerly of Vogue Paris.

“She’s a legend — she knows what she wants, she’s very detail-orientated, which I love — and very chic,” Fergie told Women’s Wear Daily.

“Enchanté’ is an homage to her. She would teach me these chic little things and talk about Brigitte Bardot and such. You can’t help but be attracted to that and learn from it — I just love being a sponge in all of it.”

As for Jenner, she thanked both Fergie and the source of inspiration behind the song, Carine Roitfeld via Instagram, as she shared a clip from the music video.

#1 record, pretty exciting news

Fergie is been pretty busy promoting her sophomore album, and the first in more than a decade too.

Earlier this week, she appeared on The Tonight Show and performed an acoustic version of the Black Eyed Peas’ 2005 hit, ‘My Humps’ with members of The Roots.

Then on Friday, she hit the TODAY stage bright and early for the Citi Concert Series, but the concert wasn’t the only way she marked the day.

And the emotion got to Fergie during the performance, as TODAY’s anchors got the chance to share some very good news with her — her new album is already No. 1 on iTunes.

“Oh, my … really?” she said as tears of joy streamed down her face.

Then, looking right into the camera with a message for her fans, she added, “Thank you! Thank you, everybody! I’m crazy losing it right now. … I’m gonna ruin all my swag credibility.”

No worries there! Her swag was in tack on stage and, in between songs, she even opened up about her life off-stage.

She and her husband of eight years, Josh Duhamel, announced they were separating in a statement last week.

“I’m doing really well,” she told anchor Hoda Kotb. “I’ve got nothing but love in my life around me.”

And success, with that new release.

‘Double Dutchess’

‘Double Dutchess,’ the follow-up to her 2006 release ‘The Dutchess,’ features a few other famous names, including Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and a rising star called Axl Jack — who happens to be Fergie’s 4-year-old son.

During her performance on the Today show for a performance, she explained how her son ended up on the album.

“He sings songs all around the house so I brought this demo home and I was just playing it, listening to it, and I’m singing it [in French] and then he starts singing it,” she shared.

“When you hear your kid singing in French — it was just mommy pride! I had to just record it.”

Earlier this week, Fergie discussed with Us the album and how emotional and intimate was working on it.

“A lot of them took very much from autobiographical experiences and the video and visuals got to play with larger than life, movie magic. It’s a lot of hard work,” she said.

“There are a few emotional songs on this album. I mean, I cry in a couple of the videos, so there’s definitely tears that were let out.”

“Two of the emotional songs are ‘Love is Pain’ [and] ‘Save it Till the Morning.’ Those are ones that I definitely tear up in the video,” she added.
