Dancing With the Stars delivered one final blow in the Season 24 finale. NFL free agent Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater took home the mirror ball trophy, even when the ones getting a perfect score were others.
In what turned out to be a season full of shocking moments, Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy found themselves placing third in the shocking overall results, after dominating the competition all season long.
After countless dancing, the final season arrived
The results of the final night come after a Dancing With The Stars season that has seen a number of shocking voting results.And we’re not just talking about the usual shock moments that take place during the final stages of the competition no. The first came during Week 6 when Glee alum Heather Morris was voted out of the competition in a result that drew ire from the ballroom audience.

David and Lindsay delivered a Foxtrot-Salsa combo that scored them a 36 out of 40. Normani and Val stepped in to bring their A-game and performed an Argentine Tango and Foxtrot that nabbed them a perfect score. Finally, but certainly not least, Rashad and Emma brought in the Cha Cha-Tango and scored a 39 out of 40.
Just one more shocking moment before ending the season
It was time to announce the official placement, ad hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews were up to it. However, much to everyone’s surprise, Normani and Val were the first team to say goodbye to the mirrorball trophy. The team thanked for the opportunity and was clearly disappointed.
Then it was down to David and Lindsay and Rashad and Emma. These two teams, who were considered underdogs to some, raised questions about the possibility of winning in the last days.
Rashad and Emma were announced the winners and crowned to the surprise of many. They are set to appear on Good Morning America and Live With Kelly & Ryan on Wednesday morning to discuss their victory.
People and Normani hardcore fans were shocked with the news and took social media to express how outrageous they were. Some celebrities also took to Twitter to express their thoughts, including Lady Gaga, Zendaya, Tamar Braxton and Sarah Hyland.
On the other side, in an ET interview, Normani opened up about the unexpected results. She expressed how unexpected it was for her, but she highlighted how much she had gained from the experience.She was gracious and thankful for the experience and particularly for her partner.

The NFL running back who’s currently a free agent plans to keep on dancing, and training and claims he’ll be more than ready when a team calls. The football player is also considering acting in the future.
Rashad also plans to continue running his charity, called The Rashad Jennings Foundation, which serves to educate, inspire and encourage youth through initiatives, which include education, health and fitness and coaching.
