Radio Flyer just announced they are releasing a new toy modeled after Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder. Everyone’s favorite mode of Jedi transportation will soon be available for kids to drive around the neighborhood.
And for more news that are like music to ‘Star Wars’ fans, LucasFilm is releasing more cool things and information at the San Diego Comic-Con.
How to be the coolest kid in the world?
If you’re a die hard fan of ‘Star Wars,’ Luke Skywalker‘s landspeeder from ‘Episode IV – A New Hope’ was your ideal vehicle. Now your kids can have it!
Radio Flyers revealed the new drivable ride for children age 4 and older with a $499.99 retail price tag. The landspeeder seats two and comes complete with an interactive dashboard, lights, and movie-accurate sounds, including buttons for your robot pals R2-D2 and C-3PO.
Skywalker himself is also available at the touch of a button to say, “Look it, there’s a droid on the scanner. Dead ahead. Might be our little Artoo unit. Hit the accelerator!”
With a maximum speed of 5 miles per hour, the landspeeder looks cool enough to make grown Star Wars fans want to carjack this puppy from their kids.
The iconic design instantly familiar to sci-fi fans young and old alike. The Landspeeder debuted in the first Star Wars film back in 1977 and was the vehicle which transported Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Sir Alec Guinness’ Obi-Wan Kenobi across the desert planet of Tatooine.
This is totally a dream come true.

But the fun for ‘Star Wars’ fans doesn’t stop there, Lucasfilm announced and unveiled tons of new books and comics at San Diego Comic-Con. Some of which include a ‘Thrawn’ adaptation from Marvel, more from the Journey to ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ publishing program, and many titles inspired by ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
LucasFilm also whets fans appetite for the next movie in the Skywalker saga.
On Wednesday, the company unveiled the diorama of characters even hinting off the path they take on the film, revealing the return of an old favorite.First, there’s BB-8.
“BB-8 continues his service to Poe Dameron, but also is a good friend and resourceful ally to Finn and Rose during their mission to thwart the First Order,” the exhibit says.
Secondly, the exhibit contains Nien Nunb — who last got serious screen time as Lando Calrissian’s co-pilot in ‘Return of the Jedi’ some 34 years ago.
Meanwhile, Poe Dameron, played by Oscar Isaac, appears to have a more significant story arc in the upcoming film than he had in ‘The Force Awakens’.
Dameron “shines as a daring squadron leader,” the exhibit says. But this time out he’s “brash and foolhardy,” and his “hot shot antics wear the patience of both First Order and Resistance command.”
Finally the exhibit revealed one new creature, an alien Resistance pilot named C’ai Threnalli — revealed as Poe Dameron’s wingman.
