Zayn Malik And Sia Collaboration ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ Is A Total Hit

‘Dusk Till Dawn’ Marks The Fourth Standalone Duet Malik Released As A Single

Zayn Malik released his much-anticipated collaboration with Sia on Thursday. While no official information has been delivered, Zayn’s upcoming album is expected for later this year.

Last month, the former One Direction was on the cover of GQ magazine and recently opened up about his work to Beats 1.

Going full Bonnie and Clyde

After much teasing Zayn Malik finally released the ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ collaboration feat Sia on Thursday, and it’s a total hit.

The artists began hinting about the new song on Instagram in a thank-you note to fans after ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,’ his duet with Taylor Swift from ’50 Shades Darker,’ won the Best Collaboration award at MTV’s Video Music Awards last month.

Zayn then posted the artwork to Twitter last week and gave fans a glimpse at the forthcoming video in a new 30-second clip.

The video stars Jemima Kirke of ”Girls’ fame and is directed by Marc Webb of ‘(500) Days of Summer’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’.

And it’s Bonnie and Clyde on full display. All of the hallmarks of a high-speed action film are there. From the tense moment leading up to Zayn’s arrest to the dimly lit interrogation scene to the stand-off that leads to Zayn lighting up a bathtub full of firecrackers.

The song was co-written by the pair with 2017 Grammy producer of the year Greg Kurstin.

‘Dusk Till Dawn’ marks the fourth standalone duet Malik released as a single, following ‘Wrong’ with Kehlani, ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ with Taylor Swift and ‘Still Got Time‘ with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

Discussing the upcoming album

In an interview with Beats 1, Zayn talked about his collaboration with Sia and his upcoming new album. The album is expected to drop later this year.

“It was amazing, I wrote the song with not a lot in mind, to be honest, but it was played to Sia and she liked it,” he said about working with Sia.

“She added another melody on it and she just took it to another level and then we decided it was a good thing to work together.”

However, Zayn admitted the pair didn’t get the chance to work together in a studio.

“We didn’t go into the studio, we spoke via management. She did it really quick. I would love to do something with her in the studio in the future, that would be really cool.”

He also discussed his sophomore album and the shape it’s taking.

“I am excited about this record. I think it is an evolution in sound. It is still me, it has just evolved a bit, it’s just grown up. It has more of an identity to it, so it’s good.”

He’s been pretty secretive about the work he’s done so far. But he did hint he teamed up with some big names.

“I have had the chance to work with a lot of people that I wanted to work with,” he said.

“I am keeping exactly who I have worked with to myself but I can say there are some big people on there and there are some people that people may not expect me to collaborate with.”
