In the latest GQ edition, Tom Hiddleston opened up about the long time ended “Hiddleswift”. The actor discussed the three-month relationship and revealed the story behind the long-discussed “I <3 T.S.” tank top.
When Hiddleston appeared using the tank top, people went crazy and speculations were on the rise. Is he suffering Stockholm syndrome? Did he lose a bet? Well as time reveals everything, we finally get to know the story behind the popular pictures.
It’s time for the Hiddleswift.
Taylor Swift has dated a number of artists and we know all about them. Harry Styles, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tom Jonas are just some of them. With every relationship, fans came up with a cute and silly name for the relationship, but the best one has been “Hiddleswift.”
After beeing photographed kissing, Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston made their relationship public and people couldn’t get enough of them.
Shock and amazed.
The couple traveled a lot when they were together, they even met each other’s parents. But then came the event that shocked the world. Tom Hiddleston was photographed wearing a t-shirt that read “I <3 T.S.” And it was simply too much to handle.
Literally too much to handle.
The internet simply broke with this picture. Not only it caused a meme avalanche, but it also raised questions about the relationship. Because how could this be? Was it on purpose or was it a funny turn of events?
Either way, the mystery was finally solved…
In an interview with Taffy Brodesser-Akner for GQ, Hiddleston addressed, for the first time, the public relationship. Tom said that the relationship was quite real and that Taylor is an incredible woman.
Then he addressed the epic moment the Internet couldn’t get over. The “I <3 T.S.” t-shirt. He explained that during the Fourth of July they were playing games, and he slipped and hurt his back, he continued. “And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, ‘Does anyone have a T-shirt?’ And one of her friends said, ‘I’ve got this’ (and pulled out the tank top). And we all laughed about it. It was a joke.”
It haunts him.
In the interview Tom got pretty emotional about how people reacted to the picture, he said “…Nobody had the context for that story.” Then continued, “And I’m still trying to work out a way of having a personal life and protecting it, but also without hiding. So the hardest thing is that that was a joke among friends on the Fourth of July.”
Tom confessed is pretty hard to maintain a relationship that’s as extremely public as the Hiddleswift. He said, “A relationship in the limelight… A relationship always takes work. A relationship in the limelight takes work. And it’s not just the limelight. It’s everything else.”
It’s ok Tom, everything will work its way out.
