Tom Hiddleston Talked About Taylor Swift On The 'Today' Show

Tom Hiddleston is the British man that has played many roles throughout his actor career. From being a war soldier to an avenger and a lot of other characters. Now he’ll play Captain James Conrad role in Kong: Skull Island.

The actor attended The Today Show to talk initially about his participation in this new film. But the interview took a different path when Savannah Guthrie brought up the Taylor Swift’s issue.

Kong is back.

Hiddleston plays Captain James Conrad. A former British military tracker for an expedition to a mysterious uncharted island. The interviewer expressed that Tom played what she defined as “a quite mysterious role,” in which Tom seemed like “a mercenary tracker person.”

“Was that how they described the role,” Guthrie asked. Hiddleston made fun of the question and then answered: “no, they pitched me as an adventurer basically in the kind of old-fashion classic type.”

Involved in the creative process.

The actor had the chance to work on its own character because he signed on before there was a real script. Developing who the character would be, was the element of the creative process that Tom said he loved.

“We found information about the British special forces who were serving in Indonesia in the late sixties and that would be interesting because Sam Jackon place American Colonel if the ground expedition leader was British SAS,” Hiddleston explained.

What about Taylor Swift.

Just when we thought the interview was over, Amanda let out the question that was spinning in his mind. She decided to ask what we’ve all been wondering, his relationship with Taylor Swift.

“How what it was like to kind of go through all that into being in the public eye in that way,” she asked. “Everyone is entitled to a private life. I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment, and in my mind, I don’t conflict the two. My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life,” he clarified claiming that those two things were separated.
