We All Need A Little Boost From Time To Time

The world can be a hard place sometimes, but there’s always that wonderful opportunity to change our reality. Maybe we feel overwhelmed by all the bad things happening in the world, like bad persons that hurt children and animals.

But if we look around, we can also find some kind people that help others, there’s beauty in the world, and it’s necessary to keep that in mind. So, it’s time to restore our faith in humanity.

It doesn’t matter how old or young you are; you always have the opportunity to make the difference and make this world a better place. Don’t wait for others to change the world, start by doing it yourself.

10. More children like him, please.

Christian McPhilamy is an 8-year-old boy who decided to let his hair grow to help others. The boy took this decision after watching a commercial from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Christian saw the commercial when he owas six years old and was determined to grow his hair long.

After two years of being bullied by adults and classmates, that called him “girl”, he finally cut his hair and donated it to make wigs for children. Go, Christian, we need more children like you in this world!

9. A girl with a huge heart.

Hailey Fort is a ten-year-old girl that has a nonprofit foundation called “ Hailey’s Harvest.” She believes that “ everyone should have a place to live.” Which is why she decided to build shelters for homeless people in Washington. Fort also grows food for them to have something to eat.

8.Dogs also need love.

Rob Scheinberg and Danielle Eden are the owners of Dog Tales, a shelter in Canada. This shelter is not only for dogs but also for horses. They offer these animals a space that makes them feel like royalty, they have a lot of space to run and play.

Earlier this year, Danielle went to a shelter in Israel and she was so upset for the conditions of the place that she decided to buy the shelter and transport all the dogs to Canada to give them a better life.

Not all the superheroes need powers, some of them only need a good costume. Window washers decided to turn themselves into superheroes  and started wearing costumes and cleaning the windows of  The New York Hospital for Children.

Most runners wouldn’t stop in this situation. In the picture, we can see Nikki Hamblin of New Zealand helping U.S Abbey D’Agostino after they collided during the 5000-meter race in Rio de Janeiro.

She shows to the world that before winning a race, she prefers being a good person and helping those in need. Nikki helps her to stand up, and then she continues the race with her. Go Nikki! Maybe she didn’t win the race, but she taught us about the competition sprit.

5. Real friendship

Dylan Siegel and Jonah Pournazrian are best friends since they met in preschool. Johan has a rare disease on his liver called Glucogen Storage Disease or GSD. Dylan would do anything to help his friend, so he decided to write a book about him and every dollar goes to the lab at the University Of Florida, specifically the College Of Medicine, that is working in his disease. Dylan and Johan are still friends, they’re the proof or real friendship.

4. The incredible effect of books

Luis Soriano has a Bachelor in Literature. Ten years ago the Colombian citizen created a “Biblioburro”( Donkey library)  program. It’s a traveling library that allows people in remote villages to have access to reading. This library is on the back of a donkey. Because where there’s a will, there’s a way.

3.A cute puppy and a policeman.

Sometimes, we have this huge connection with some people that we can´t explain. The same happen with animals. Marcus Montgomery can’t explain what he felt for this cute puppy in his routine visit to the shelter. He fell in love with this puppy and decided to adopt it. So lovely, could you resist that face?

2. Real friends stick by your side, no matter what.

Sometimes we believe that dreams can’t come true because the conditions in our lives don’t allow us to achieve them. Kevan Chandler was not the exception to that thought; he belived that he wasn’t capable of traveling across Europe because he was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, that’s a genetic disorder that causes weakness of his muscles.

Mason Wartman is the owner of Rosas’s Fresh Pizza, and the mastermind behind a great idea that made the restaurant very famous. He created a program where people can pay a slice of pizza forward, and leave a Post-It on the wall.
