‘Daddy’s Home 2’ The Sequel Brings Mel Gibson As Mark Wahlberg’s Dad [VIDEO]

They Finally Revealed The Latest Trailer

Mel Gibson joins the cast of Daddy’s Home 2 as a grandfather from hell. At least that’s what it seems in the newest trailer for the comedy. The sequel will hit screens in November, and this time the paternal tensions seem to focus on the grandparents.

A grandparents drama

The sequel to the 2015 smash comedy Daddy’s Home has unveiled its first trailer and it’s a star-studded affair that’s shaping up to be hilarious.

Mel Gibson and John Lithgow join the “daddies” in the Paramount Pictures’ production. The Lethal Weapon actor will be playing the grandfather from hell who makes a flying visit to his son, played by Walberg. While Lithgow will play the over-affectionate father of Will Ferrell‘s character.

In this new film, the two families have decided to team up to provide their kids with a perfect Christmas. And we know it’s not going to be perfect but only trouble.

Sean Anders has returned to the director’s chair. He also wrote the script with John Miller, his writing partner on ‘We’re The Millers’.

The first Daddy’s Home performed well in late 2015 as counter-programming directly against the mega-hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The film also stars Linda Cardellini, John Cena, and Alessandra Ambrosio. Daddy’s Home 2 opens in the US on November 10.

Back in the rodeo

After gaining Oscar recognition for his work as a director for the brutal war epic, ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ early this year, Mel is now heading back to the screen in front of the camera.

Last May, Lionsgate acquired distribution rights to the upcoming thriller ‘Dragged Across Concrete,’ starring Vince Vaughn and Mel Gibson.

The pair already worked together in ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, where Vaughn starred as a sergeant and Gibson directed. The movie received six Oscar nominations, including best picture and best director.

“We are delighted to be working again with Mel Gibson, who helmed our double Oscar winner ‘Hacksaw Ridge,’ along with Vince Vaughn and the great production team behind this film,” said Jason Constantine, Lionsgate’s president

The project was first unveiled at the Berlin Film Festival last February. The film will be released through Summit Entertainment.

The story follows Gibson and Vaughn, who will play cops who are suspended when a video of their strong-arm tactics gets wide attention. They then descend into the criminal underworld to exact vengeance.

‘Dragged Across Concrete’ is written and directed by ‘Bone Tomahawk’ director S..Craig Zahler and production will begin on July 17 in Vancouver.
