You’ll Never Guess Which Pop Star Inspired Marilyn Manson’s Latest Album

Manson Came Back With A Lot Of Surprises

Marilyn Manson just dropped a new single off his anticipated upcoming album ‘Heaven Upside Down’. The singer revealed the inspiration behind the album was, as strange as it sounds, a Rihanna’s hit.

Manson came loaded with surprises as he also announced he’s ready to work along rapper Lil Uzi Vert on a rock album. Welcome back, Marilyn.

Strange inspiration

Marilyn Manson dropped a new single, ‘We Know Where You F**king Live’ on Zane Lowe’s Apple Beats 1 Radio Show on Monday night.

And while he’s coming back with new sounds, he’s also coming back with a brand new unlikely inspiration.

The singer revealed Rihanna as the album’s inspiration. In an interview with Consequence of Sound, Manson said rocker once saw the R&B star perform the song ‘Love on the Brain’, from her last record ‘Anti,’ live and was in awe of her authenticity.

“Strangely enough, one of the records that influenced this album strongly, and it can’t be taken literally [sonically], is Rihanna, her last record,” he said.

“That one song, ‘Love On The Brain’, it really hit me because I saw her perform it and she just … meant it.”

Manson recently described the new album as, “A new, different approach. It’s pretty violent in its nature for some reason.”

He announced the album ‘Heaven Upside Down’ will drop on October 6. Also, a major tour starting on September 27, Silver Spring, MD and wrapping up on October 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

An unexpected collaboration

And that’s not where the singer stopped in surprising us. He also said that after meeting trap rap star Lil Uzi Vert whilst having dinner with hip-hop King Rick Ross, the latter was desperate to collaborate with him.

In the same interview with Consequence of Sound, Manson mentioned that he and his collaborator Tyler Bates are gearing up to work on some music with Uzi. According to Manson, Uzi is looking to make a rock album.

“Uzi] wants to do a rock album next. I would love to see that happen because I think that he could make a new thing,” he said.

“Not some rock/rap type of thing, something special and new that I think needs to be created just to fuck the world up more…”

“I think he has punk rock in him. He’s a little crazy motherfucker. And good. Smart as fuck. He has an attitude like I did, and I like that about him,” he added.

The Philadelphia rapper is a huge fan of Manson. And ever since he became famous the rapper has been talking up Marilyn Manson as a key influence.

Uzi also wore a Manson T-shirt in Migos’Bad And Boujee‘ video, and he reportedly paid $100,000 for an iced-out Manson chain.
