Marilyn Manson Got Injured By A Stage Prop, Cancels NYC Show Mid-Set

Marilyn Mason was injured onstage at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom Saturday night. A stage prop either fell on him or caused him to fall backward.

Following the incident, the singer postponed nine dates of his tour ‘Heaven Upside Down.’ Manson is set to release his tenth studio album by the same name, on Friday, October 6.

Injured by stage prop

Marilyn Manson was taken to hospital last night after being injured by a stage prop during a show at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

The incident occurred while Manson was playing “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These),” towards the end of his set. Videos show Manson walking to the back of the stage towards two oversized, crossed pistols on a scaffold. The guns fall forwards on top of Manson, who is knocked to the floor before the stage crew rushes on to lift the prop.

“Manson suffered an injury towards the end of his incredible NYC show,” a representative for the singer told Rolling Stone shortly after the show.

“He is being treated at a local hospital.”

It’s the second time in as many days that Manson has been injured during a show. In Pittsburgh Friday night, he fell offstage while performing ‘The Beautiful People’ with Alice Glass. The show was held up for 15 minutes before Manson returned and told the crowd that he’d broken his ankle.

“I just broke my ankle, but it’s okay because Alice Glass is going to fill in for me. Come on, you can do it. I told you I’d break my ankle because the tour manager is a fascist,” Manson said at the time.

Canceled tour

The band’s “Heaven Upside Down” tour launched just two days ago in Maryland and is scheduled to continue through the end of October, although it was unclear at press time whether the canceled dates will be rescheduled; it was unclear at press time whether any dates will be postponed due to the injury

A rep said he will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles but declined to specify the extent of the singer’s injuries.

The postponed dates include Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and Houston. The tour will pick up in Grand Prairie, Texas on Oct. 15.
