Popped out and then disappeared
Madonna fans started the weekend with a cool surprise, only it was what it seemed. On Friday, a “new” Madonna song appeared on iTunes.
Th track managed to chart in 17 countries on iTunes despite having a low-key unofficial release. In fact, it peaked within the Top 50 in eight of those territories.
The track titled ‘Behind Me’ feat artist Guido Dos Santos. It’s suspected the track was actually an unreleased demo called Two Steps Behind Me recorded for her 2015 album Rebel Heart but never finished it for the final collection.
The track leaked back in 2014, and at the time, the song was rumored to be a diss track targeting Lady Gaga. However, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, denied these suggestions.
However, seems like Madonna’s team caught the leak and removed the song on Monday.
Even when there’s no new official track, the Queen of Pop confirmed exciting news! Her hit live show, the Rebel Heart Tour, will be released for a DVD recording and live album this year.
Not down for it at all
Biopics are everywhere in these days, and the Pop Royalty is getting its own. Michael Jackson is getting a biopic with Lifetime, and back in April, a script on Madonna’s life was picked by Universal.
The studio picked up Blond Ambition, first-time writer Elyse Hollander that topped the 2016 Black List, which is the industry’s most liked unproduced screenplays. Michael De Luca is in to produce along with Brett Ratner’s RatPAc Entertainment.
Th story is set in the 1980s in New York as Madonna worked on her first album while dealing with her love life and the first hints of fame. Neither a director nor cast has been chosen for the project.
However, the Material Girl is not having it. Since learning of the project, the pop diva took to social media to denounce the project.
She said, “Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool.”
Then added, “Why would Universal Studios want to make a movie about me based on a script that is all lies??? The writer Elyse Hollander should write for the tabloids.” So, there’s that.
Madonna recently celebrated Mother’s Day with her youngest daughters, Mercy, Esther, and Stella. Madonna adopted first adopted Mercy in 2009, and then this February she adopted twins, Esther and Stella. The proud mama shared a picture of the girls on Monday and captioned it “My joy.”
