Pelee’s Movie ‘Get Out’ Leads The Nominations In The MTV Awards This Year

It Really Makes You Feel At The Edge

Movies are without a doubt something everyone loves. No matter if they’re chick flicks, horror movies, or something intense we all love them. That’s why even MTV has a ceremony to honor them. They’re so aware of it, they even expand it. As now it’s the “MTV Movie & TV Awards.”

This obviously admits not only a greater variety of nominees but it also makes the competition way more fierce. As in this year’s “first” edition, there is one candidate that seems that will take all the awards. That one is Jordan Peele’s incredibly smart horror film “Get Out.”

Breaking the new league

Get Out” is leading the nomination charts with seven nominations, six if you don’t count the “Next Generation” actor category. Between the categories in which the film is nominated are “Movie Of The Year,” “Best Villain”, and “Best Fight Against The System” (previously the “Best Fight” category).

While for the film’s actors it’s also an important night. Since protagonist David Kaluuya is nominated for “Best Actor in a Movie,” “Next Generation,” and “Best Duo” ( an honor shared with Lil Rel Howery). These nominations are Kaluuya’s first major US awards. Also, in the case of Rel Howery, she is nominated for “Best Comedic Performance.”

Pelee Power

Peele’s movie isn’t only great and keeps you at the edge of your seat. It’s also the highest grossing movie for an original script since its release. Something very successful as it’s Pelee’s debut as a director, who also wrote the film.

The movie is so good that it’s closest competitors are “Beauty & The Beast” and “Stranger Things.” Who follow Get Out” with four nominations each. In the case of “Stranger Things,” their nomination for “Best Villain” goes to the character of the monster The Demogorgon, and not the actor who plays it.
