December means a lot of things, but the greatest one for me it’s that DJ Earworm releases his “United States of Pop” mashup. The 2016 edition is here and I’m losing my mind. It’s like listening to my whole year in less than four minutes.
This year’s mix included a bunch of great artist like Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, and Justin Timberlake, but without a doubt, the main song is “This Is What You Came For” by Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna and just a tiny bit of Taylor Swift.
This mashup combines the pop culture of an entire year.
DJ Earworm blends the 25 highest charting singles of the year so good you could easily think it is an actual song. He does this every year and each one is better than the previous. Check it out:
The mix starts with a little bit of The Weeknd.
To opening the song is “Starboy” and you can hear the lyrics “The whole year put you in the worst mood.” but he’s about to change that. DJ Earworm puts together a mix that could only make you wanna dance.
2016 seems to be all about Twenty One Pilots.
He included three of their songs “Stressed Out”, “Ride” and “Heathens”, The Chainsmokers have two songs on the list just like Rihanna. He missed a couple of artist like Ariana Grande and Beyonce, but the list is pretty complete.
Not only he blends the songs but the videos too.
It’s mind blowing to your senses. You can see your all-time favorites of the year with new artists or new versions of them like Zayn and DNCE.
This tune puts you in an immediate party mood.
He finishes the mashup with “Closer” when they sing “I can’t stop” and I literally can’t. I’m already looking forward to next year’s mix. I could party all year long with this one but I need more.Please give me more.
