'Big Little Lies' Have Us Suffering From Withdrawal With That Amazing Ending

Last Sunday HBO aired the final episode of Big Little Lies and it was breath-taking. The limited series was definitely a winning combination for the network becoming a trending topic on the season finale.

The thing is Big Little Lies surprised us good and most people aren’t ready to let go of these complex characters and their surprisingly incredible stories.

HBO announced last year a production that included big names such as Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley.

The miniseries was based on the novel of the same name written by Liane Moriarty. Consisting of seven episodes and directed by Jean-Marc Vallée it was set to premiere in February 2017.

As the book, the series would follow a group of women living in Monterey taking care of their children in theirs, as we assumed, perfect lives. But it turned out to be so much more than that.

Vulnerable core under the classic suburban gossip

SPOILER ALERT. For the trailer, we definitely knew something shady was happening but Big Little Lies really kicked off the washed out story of rich women behaving badly and living the excess of a suburban city.

As the series continued, it revealed a darkness behind all the politics of elementary school drama and focused on the show’s vulnerable core, that lies in each one of the stories of these women living their lives and facing situations.

Big Little Lies deals with different issues but delightfully portrays the intimacy of relationships as no other. All the raw parts included and the complexities of the characters give the show an authenticity like no other.

The frenzy of the mini-series

Along the seven episodes, the series builds little by little its central issue which is the abuse. Rape and domestic abuse become the point in which all these strong female characters converge and become one to stand to their bully.

Big Little Lies really is a piece of art, the most expressive parts that connect you to the characters happen in total silence, connecting you to the vulnerability of them.

This is why many people are asking for a season two, which according to HBO is not going to happen. The show was thought to be a mini-series and it reached its final point. Now we’re suffering from a withdrawal.
