Two more names added to the celebrity kids list! George Clooney and Amal Clooney welcomed their twins on Tuesday and shared the happy news with the world. The twins, a boy and a girl called Alexander and Ella, opens Hollywood Twins season, as Jay-Z and Beyonce are also expecting two bundles.

News broke on Tuesday that George Clooney‘s kids had finally arrived. The announcement came via George’s publicist Stan Rosenfield.“This morning we welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into our lives,” the Clooneys said in a statement issued Tuesday. “Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine.”
The babies, first children for both Amal and George Clooney, were born in London Tuesday morning. According to George’s publicist Stan Rosenfield, who went on to joke, “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
Amal Clooney’s pregnant announcement broke in February on the TV show The Talk, when host Julie Chen revealed that Jay-Z and Beyoncé weren’t the only ones expecting twins. Last March, George, who has gone on record in saying that he didn’t want kids, said he’s more than ready for the new adventure.
“We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure. We’ve sort of embraced it all… with arms wide open,” he said to Laurent Weil on Rencontres de Cinema.
The birth of Amal Clooney’s kids has sent media into a frenzy as paparazzi lined up outside a London hospital clamoring for the first pictures of the twins. Ella and Alexander were welcomed by their family, including Amal’s mother, Baria, who was at the hospital with the new parents. Celebrities congratulated the new parents via Twiter, including Janice Hough and Ellen DeGeneres.

Over the years, the world has watched Clooney reverse his positions on what he’d never, ever do, settle down, marry again or have kids. That changed in 2013 when the actor met Amal Alamuddin, a Lebanese-British human rights lawyer. Who he proposed to in April of the following year.
The couple married in Venice in 2014 with an all-star wedding ceremony that was later displayed in the pages of People and InStyle magazine. A-list friends at the celebration included Bono, Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski and Bill Murray.
Since their wedding day, the couple has popped up at a number of Hollywood and philanthropic events. From the 2015 Golden Globes, the Cannes Film Festival. And a January event supporting the Netflix documentary ‘White Helmets in Davos’ at the annual World Economic Forum.
Now, the family of four are getting ready for their new life. Supposedly, the family will live in England. The Clooneys have spent more than a year renovating their 17th-century manor in Oxfordshire ahead of the twins’ birth. But, hey, they have options: Clooney also owns homes in Studio City, California and Lake Como, Italy.

Amal and George welcoming Ella and Alexander seems to be just the warmup for a Hollywood Twins season. Another power duo, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé are expecting twins any day now. Beyoncé’s announcement of her second pregnancy came last February when the diva broke the happy news via Instagram. Since the announcement, she has kept it low key canceling shows, such as Coachella, after her doctor advised her to rest.
While these two pregnancies turned motherhood into the biggest celebrity story of the year. They strike contrast in styles of the two women who have become the focus of the baby obsession.

Beyoncé has delighted in displaying her belly in social media and stage performances. The diva has kept the world updated not only on her baby bump but also on the latest trends of fashion. Which comes as a marked change from Bey’s first prgancy, when the diva was rarely photographed.
On the other hand, Amal made it clear during her pregnancy that she would like fans to focus more on her work than her baby bump. Throughout her pregnancy, she carried on her work and appeared at the United Nations to push for a probe into ISIS’ crimes in Iraq. Aside from the usual fascination with the private lives of public figures, the attention given to the double sets of twins reflects conflicting attitudes to modern motherhood.
Beyoncé and Clooney also highlight the trend towards older mothers, as they’re 35 and 39 respectively.
