Zombies have turned out to be an essential part of pop culture. Something that if you analyze a bit doesn’t make much sense. Since who would have ever thought that a disgusting walking rotten corpse will ever be popular? But it seems that we dig that kind of stuff and a lot.

As it has evolved from its mythical origins to become literally a “fan’s favorite” monster. With countless movies, comics and now even a TV show. One of the best is “The Walking Dead”. It has been a hit since it first aired. Catching thousands of fans, and maybe paranoid people, that love to see what would be of the world in a Zombie Apocalypse.

Who would ever though that watching those slow crawling corps would be so entertaining. As “The Walking Dead,” has had seven incredible, tense and intriguing seasons. But even though that the seventh season might be about to end there’s a lot of zombies were that came from.

As showrunner Scott Gimple has assured to the show’s fans. As he addressed the crowd on the opening night of the PaleyFest in Los Angeles, he stated that the show still has a long way to go before ending.

Gimple also revealed that the first episode of S08, is not only going to be the 100th episode of the show. But more importantly that: “It’s more about setting up the next 100.”

Gimple continued saying: “The end of this season is very much the end of a chapter. It’s very much a conclusion that promises this epic story ahead. And the first episode of Season 8… It’s about setting up this gigantic, epic tale to come, not only in Season 8 but beyond.”

Even though it’s nothing official, it seems the show has a bright future ahead. Since AMC and the producers would love to have the show running as much as possible. Especially since its status of being one of the most-watched TV shows across the world.

Gimple also went on to tease a bit the fans with a kind of spoiler. As he said that the end of the seventh season won’t be as epic and mighty as it was for season six.
