Aerosmith Cancels Tour Dates Due To Steven Tyler’s ‘Unexpected Medical Issues’

They Expect To Hit The Road Again After Steven Is Recovered

Aerosmith canceled its tour following Steven Tayler’s unexpected medical issues, the band announced on Tuesday. While Tyler took to social media to express is not a life or death situation, he’s taking a break from the road.

The band expects to hit the road with their farewell tour once Steven is completely recovered and doing fine.

Taking a break due to medical issues

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler says he has returned to the United States for medical care. The band is canceling the last four shows of its tour in South America.

Tyler said on social media Tuesday that he flew back to the U.S. on Monday night after a show in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

And Steven added his own statement to the message, in which he assured fans he isn’t in a “life-threatening condition”. He does need to receive immediate medical care in order to “maintain [his] future performances”.

“To everybody in South America….Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico….I’m very sorry and feel like I’ve let you down…I won’t be able to continue the last four shows of this tour,” he wrote.

“I’m not in a life-threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away and get some rest and medical care immediately. I need this in order to sustain and maintain my future performances…”

“Promise I’ll be back…Unfortunately, health does not wait and it’s something even I can’t schedule around our shows…..As they say, ‘We humans make plans, and God laughs….’ I love you all and will be back with you soon..…(sic)”

Following Steven’s medical emergency – which has not yet been detailed – the rockers have been forced to cancel shows in Curitiba, Santiago, Rosario, and Monterrey, meaning the last four concerts on the South America tour.

It’s not the first time the rocker has this type of medical issues

Tyler has previously fought a battle with hepatitis C, which he was diagnosed within 2003.

The rock legend spoke out about his illness three years later. Explaining how he underwent 11 months of chemotherapy, Today reported.

This is not the first time a member of Aerosmith has ignited concerns due to health matters.

Last year guitarist Joe Perry set tongues wagging when he collapsed onstage during a performance with the Hollywood Vampires at the Ford Amphitheater on the Coney Island Boardwalk in New York.

Farewell tour

Aerosmith is currently on its farewell tour. Which they announced last year and frontman Steven Tyler confirmed on the Howard Stern Show.

“I love this band, I really do, and I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this … We’re doing a farewell tour, but only because it’s time. We’ve never done that,” Tyler said before going on to joke that the tour would last “probably forever.”

Tyler’s comments confirm earlier statements he made to Rolling Stone in May 2016 as well as comments from guitarist Brad Whitford.

But Tyler’s manager Rebecca Warfield reassured fans that it doesn’t mark the end of Aerosmith.

“They are not breaking up. That’s not quite what he said,” Warfield told People magazine.

“He is still the ultimate frontman for Aerosmith, the greatest American rock band of all time. Aerosmith will always be his first love and nothing will ever take that away.”

Warfield called the rocker “more energized, brilliant, creative and on-point.”

“As far as 2017. Everyone will have to stay tuned as to hear what’s up to his sleeve. Steven is taking it up a notch in all his endeavors,” Warfield said.

Going full country

Steven Tyler released his solo album  ‘We’re All Somebody From Somewhere’ in July 2016, and then embarked on his solo  ‘Out On A Limb’ tour.

The longtime leader of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Aerosmith co-produced the album, which was recorded in Nashville, and co-wrote 12 of its 15 tracks.

The first two singles, “Love Is Your Name” and “Red, White & You,” peaked at Nos. 19 and 29 on Hot Country Songs and Nos. 33 and 46 on Country Airplay, respectively. The title track is the newly released third single.

The rocker toured solo with his ‘Out on a Limb’ tour that kicked off July 2 at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas and hit 19 cities.

Tyler follows a trail of artists from other genres (typically rock) that have landed in Nashville, including fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and Big Machine labelmates Cheap Trick.

In recent years, Darius Rucker has notably conquered country radio after leading Hootie & The Blowfish to mainstream success.

“I believe Y’all are gonna listen to this stuff and you’re gonna agree with me that it fell from a star,” he said in n interview to Rolling Stone.

“I had nothing to do with this shit, it’s just Nashville. There’s something so magical about this town and me writing with all these people.”

“Country music still plays stuff with melody, I have a sorcerer’s grasp of melody, I like to think,” he explains.

“I’m a freak for that so thank God they’re still playing it in the country, and I think they’re gonna be all over songs like ‘Only Heaven’ and you guys are gonna be surprised.”
