Aerosmith Assures They’re Not Calling It Quits Just Yet

The Band Is Getting Ready For Their Brand New European Tour

Aerosmith it’s approaching their 50th anniversary, and to celebrate it they will be on the road for 2017. Even though many think that the guys are calling it quits soon, the band is making other plans.

In previous interviews, the guys might have given a hint, that they’re thinking about retirement. Something that got reinforced due to the name of their 2017 European tour, “Aero-Vederci Baby!”. Something that obviously misleads fans into thinking it’s a farewell tour. However, the members said the band isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Aerosmith it’s saying ‘see you soon’:

Both singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry have stated that the band, despite its age, isn’t going anywhere. Both band members said the band will keep playing as long as they can. Perry said: “From my point of view, I think that we are going to keep pretty active over the next few years”.

Also, despite the misleading name of the tour, that makes you think they will be hanging their guitars and spandex. Tyler cleared out that there is nothing to worry about.Joking that they gave the tour that name because they simply couldn’t think of any another name for it. Adding that “as long as the band is playing the way it is right now, it is going to be for a long time”. Besides they were going to Europe, so they decided to add a bit of a European touch.

Euro-invasion

Aerosmith and the “Aero-Vederci Baby” tour starts on May 17th in Tel Aviv, Israel and runs into early July in Zurich, Switzerland. But even though the band has stated that they’re not going anywhere, the idea keeps popping up. Tyler told Howard Stern back in June:“I love this band, I really do, and I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this … We’re doing a farewell tour, but only because it’s time. We’ve never done that”.Guitarist, Joe Perry, said to the Rolling Stones in another occasion that it was “a good possibility (…) but it’s really hard for me to imagine the last gig. Sorry”.

However, the band, in a contradictory way, does seem to confirm it is a “farewell” tour in a rather humorous video. In which, Tyler and Perry serve as news anchors teasing the tour. Tyler asks, “Any truth to the rumors this could be the last hurrah?” to which Perry answers, “Who the hell knows? ” before revealing the title of the trek. So it seems the guys from the band know as much as us if it will be their last European tour or not.
