A Version Of Spider-Man’s Spinoff Venom, Is Coming To Movie Theaters In 2018

Honestly This Is A Great Set Of News To Receive On A Monday

Sony announced on Thursday that Venom is getting his own movie, its premiere date is set for October 2018. The movie will only have a year gap from the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming which is so cool! In 2013 Sony planned to take Venom to the screens but this idea faded after The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was canceled.

 Taking every opportunity

Earlier this week, Warner announced shifting Aquaman premiere to December 2018. This left a vacated date that Sony decided to profit by sliding Venom into it.

The move comes just a few months before the release of the latest Spider-Man reboot, Spider-Man: Homecoming which will hit theaters this summer. Spider-Man: Homecoming will star Tom Holland as the brand new Spidey. The movie focus on a more teenage Spidey who tries to find the balance between saving the world and being a teen.

Venom, there you go

Spidey’s nemesis is actually a fans favorite. The rather fanged and with doubting morals alien has been planned to hit the screen for a while. In fact, he was in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, when Topher Grace put on the black suit and scared us all.

In 2013, Sonny announced plans for releasing a Venom movie. The project included a trilogy that united at some point with Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man, but after the sequel of the Amazing Spider-Man failed at the box office, this was canceled.

The studio is now taking those plans and putting them into action. Scott Rosenberg, Jumanji, and Jeff Pinkner, The Dark Tower, are in charge of writing the script for the upcoming Venom spin-off. Also, Avi Arad and Matt Tomalch, are taking charge of the production.
