Ryan Phillipe denied sexual harassment allegations made by ex-girlfriend Elsie Hewitt. The actor took his Twitter to pronounced how devastated he was by the allegations.
Hewitt filed a lawsuit against Phillipe on Monday, claiming domestic violence. The model is reportedly planning to donate the winnings to domestic violence organizations.
Phipplipe is just devastated by the allegations
Ryan Phillippe has broken his silence on the domestic violence allegations being made against him by ex-girlfriend Elsie Hewitt.
“As a staunch advocate for the health, well-being, and equality of women, Ryan is completely devastated that these false allegations have been made and circulated,” the actor’s rep said in a statement. “Domestic violence is an incredibly serious issue and fabricated and proven false claims should not be used to unjustly slander the falsely accused. The claims are false.”
Phillippe later took Twitter to release his own statement. “From me,” he introduced the lengthy message in which he says he is “sickened” to be involved in a story where “domestic violence of any kind is being alleged.”
A source close to the actor told PEOPLE on Monday that “Ryan did not lay a hand on her — he wants to clear all of this up and he will.” The pair had started dating last April and were reportedly separated by the time the incident happened.
The actor, who previously was married to Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon and has two children with her and another with ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp, has not commented on social media.

Hewitt sticks by her million dollar lawsuit
Hewitt seeks $1 million in her lawsuit after she found herself attacked by the actor. Hewit’s lawsuit cites the model suffered chest wall pain, severe bruising and abrasions. Hewitt’s attorney, Keith Fink, told Page Six, “Ms. Hewitt filed this case for all those women who have been abused. Such conduct is intolerable,” it read.
“Neither she nor I seek any money in this case and any money awarded will be donated to a battered women society.” In her initial lawsuit, she claimed Ryan “hit,” “kicked,” “punched,” and “threw [her] down a flight of stairs causing visible injuries to legs, back, arms, shoulder, and face.”
Hewitt alleges that she then went to Phillippe’s house with a friend to pack up her things in the early hours of July 4, and a physical altercation ensued. A protective order was issued, but there are differing reports as to how long that was in effect.
Elsie is asking for over $1 million in her lawsuit. Her attorney said she plans to donate any winnings to domestic violence charities.
