When I was a kid I had a massive crush on Ricky Martin, yes I just admitted that, so naturally I was a bit depressed when he came out back in 2010, but I got over it. I thought he doesn’t have to be my husband, as long as he’s happy, I’m ok! The pop star revealed this Wednesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show his engagement to the Arab artist Jwan Yosef.
Ellen started asking Martin about his love life when he shared the good news. They met thanks to one of Martin’s passion, art. “He’s a conceptual artist, and I’m a collector, so I started looking for art, and I saw his art and I went crazy…and then I contacted him,” to what DeGeneres answered joking “And then you collected him.”
The Latin music pop star was the one to pop the question.
A sweaty Ricky Marting told us things didn’t go as planned. He admitted being “really nervous.” He said it wasn’t as easy as he’d imagine. The Puerto Rican musician shared, “Instead of saying, ‘Would you marry me?’ I said ‘I got you something.’ Then he was like, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you,’ and he was like, ‘What is the question?’ ‘Would you marry me?'”. But everything turned out great, Yosef said yes.

They both wear an engagement ring.
The 44-year-old singer and the 32-year-old conceptual artist live together and have been in a relationship for more than a year. Martin described the proposal as a beautiful moment. He was so nervous he didn’t realize Jwan said yes after 30 minutes.
Yosef has an incredible relationship with Martin’s twin sons.
Ricky told Ellen that his two 8-year-olds Matteo and Valentino get along really well with the artist “They love each other! It’s been perfect”.
But the engagement wasn’t the only announcement the boricua did.
Martin also revealed his new show at Las Vegas. He has a residency in Las Vegas’ Park Theater at Monte Carlo, the singer invited the crowd to attend “You’re all invited, did I just say that?”. Ricky was nervous during the whole interview so in Ellen’s word we say to him “I’m so happy for you, you deserve that.”
