The Transformers Director Has Given His Filmography A Bit Of A Turn

A live-action of ‘Dora the Explorer’ film is in the works and ‘Transformers’ and producer Michael Bay is the head of the team. The project is based on the famous Nickelodeon children’s show.

Following the news, the internet hilariously reacted delivering some funny memes of what’s to come on this Bay production. ‘Dora the Explorer’ live-action movie is set to hit the screens in 2019.

Will Bay make Dora Transform Herself?

In some weird news of the week, ‘Dora the Explorer’ will be stepping into new waters and making her live-action movie, by the hand of ‘Transformers’ producer Michael Bay.

Bay is known for his work in the ‘Transformers’ franchise, with which he has over a dozen stories ready to hit the screens. At the moment, he’s producing two of them and a spin-off flick ‘Bumblebee,’ starring Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena.

The film will be produced by Bay’s Platinum Dunes, which is best known for its horror films but has partnered with Paramount for his ‘Transformers’ and ‘Ninja Turtles’ films.

According to reports, the Dora live-action project has been in production at Paramount since 2015 and will catch up with a teenage Dora living in the city with her cousin Diego, instead of the little kid in the show.

The project is still very much in the early stages but aiming to release in 2019. No word yet on who will play Dora, nor Diego. And even less information on if we’ll see Boots, Swiper or Map on the silver screen. The script is being penned by Nichola Stoller, who directed ‘The Muppets’ and ‘Captain Underpants’ and is better known for movies like ‘Neighbors‘ and ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall.’

Bay’s announcement as producer of the upcoming film caused quite a frenzy on the internet, delivering funny reactions to the weird news.

The show debuted in 2000 in Nickelodeon and ended in 2014 after 172 episodes entertaining kids. It followed a 7-year-old American-Mexican girl, Dora, who always found herself caught in some exciting new adventure.

Dora teamed up with Boots, her monkey friend, and a sentient map named Map on her adventures where she discovered new things about the world. There was also a fox named Swiper, who tried to get in the way all the time.

Throughout the time the show ran, there were plenty of guest voices, including Hilary Duff, Mel Brooks, and Alan Cummings all lending their vocals to characters.
