Melissa McCarthy made a surprise appearance during this weekend’s Saturday Night Live. The actress dropped by the show, to deliver a performance that should be considered comedy gold. This amazing comedian gave the most hilarious and true impersonation of the White House press Secretary, Sean Spicer.
Sean Spicer in a Press Conference.
The eight-minute sketch features a more masculine Melissa, wearing blond hair and a not-at-all-fitting tuxedo, while she plays a quite aggressive and gum chewing version of the White House’s Press Secretary, Sean Spicer. You can see how Spicer loses it as the press asks him questions. The funny and crazy sketch video already has over 400k views on Youtube.
Only Melissa could deliver such an amazing impersonation
The comedy star showed up at SNL to debut her crazy talented version of Sean Spicer. The gum-chewing version led a daily White House press briefing with a direct statement “I know that myself and the press have gotten off to a rocky start.”
As the press briefing continued the Press Secretary mentioned the word ” Rocky” and we are pretty sure he meant the movie, because the briefing just got more and more aggressive. Then Mr. Spicer began “apologizing, on behalf of you, to me, for how you have treated me these last two weeks.” Such a crazy ride you’re about to witness!
Issues to discuss.
During the press briefing, McCartthy’s Spicer discussed issues such as Trump’s nomination of Judge Neil M. Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Spicer stated that the announcement’s news was really welcomed as “Everyone was smiling. Everyone was happy. The men all had erections, and every single one of the women was ovulating left and right. And no one, no one was sad. Those are the facts forever.”
Spicer’s relationship with the press was crazily portrayed by McCarthy’s Spicer who continuously lost it over questions regarding Trump. To then read his own email password and went full aggressive with reporters. He tangled with a New York reporter who asked why Trump didn’t use the word “ban” when describing the executive order, best known as Muslim ban.
Unannounced appearance owning the show.
McCarthy’s impression of Spicer definitely stole the show which targeted Trump’s latest presidential moves. The show’s opening was in charge of Alec Baldwin who came back to make his Trump’s impression. Baldwin’s Trump phoned world leaders for guidance over presidential strategy.
The show’s host, Kristen Stewart, opening monolog also addressed Trump. The actress recalled 2012 when President Trump tweeted about her relationship with Robert Pattinson. The actress said, “The president is not a huge fan of me. But that is so O.K. And Donald, if you didn’t like me then, you’re really probably not going to like me now. Because I’m hosting S.N.L. and I’m, like, so gay, dude.”
President Trump has complained about SNL on his Twitter account over the past months. Even when he hasn’t complained since inauguration, there’s no doubt he will be doing it soon since the show continues to swing back at him. On February 11, Alec Baldwin will be hosting SNL, so prepare for some more direct critics.
