Linkin Park Releases ‘One More Light’ Video As A Touching Tribute

They Are Also Doing A Concert To Pay Tribute To Chester

Linkin Park revealed a new video honoring late frontman Chester Bennington, on Monday. The emotional ‘One More Light’ video already has millions of views.

The band also announced an upcoming concert to pay tribute to Chester. The concert is set to take place on October 27th in which will mark Linkin Park’s first presentation without Chester.

‘One More Light’

Linkin Park unveiled a video for ‘One More Light,’ the title track of the band’s latest LP.

The Joe Hahn-directed video focuses on Bennington both onstage, where he’s surrounded by his legions of fans, as well as the singer backstage with his bandmates.

”One More Light’ was written with the intention of sending love to those who lost someone. We now find ourselves on the receiving end,” Mike Shinoda said in a statement.

“In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester,” he added.

“We are so very grateful and can’t wait to see you again.”

Director Joe Hahn also shared some words about the emotional video.

“It has been incredibly emotional to work on this, and especially to watch it. I feel that by doing it, we not only faced some of our biggest fears, but it enabled us to use our talents to bring some light to people that need it,” Hahn said.

“As we move forward to the Hollywood Bowl show and beyond, I think about the people that connect with the band. Both outside and inside our circle. This video is a gesture of goodwill to the people that want that connection.”

Upcoming tribute concert for Chester

Linkin Park on Monday announced their first concert since singer Chester Bennington died in July, saying they would honor the former band-member with a “one-night-only celebration.”

The event will take place Oct. 27 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. According to the band’s website will feature “a number of other artists” in addition to Linkin Park.

The band will donate its proceeds from the concert to the One More Light Fund at its Music For Relief charity, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Linkin Park started the organization after the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean, and the One More Light Fund specifically honors Bennington.

According to its site, the organization has two aims helping “survivors recover and rebuild” following natural disasters and mitigating “damage caused by natural disasters by reducing greenhouse gasses[sic] and educating the public about climate change.”

“I know it’s going to be a rollercoaster of emotion, but when we talk about this, when we’re focusing on the show, it’s really about celebrating life,” Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda said in a radio interview Monday morning, according to EW.

Since Bennington’s suicide, the band has received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow musicians. They even created a special portion of the Linkin Park website to collect supportive messages after Bennington’s death.
