Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton are not having all scrutiny over Malia Obama. The women took to social media to call out people who are judging and simply disrespecting Malia’s private life.
The pair jumped in after videos of Malia surfaced earlier this week, showing Malia having a normal teen life, which includes kisses, and yes, smoking.
Absurdly making the headlines
Malia Obama has been making headlines this week and causing debate on the web after videos of her were shared by celebrity tabloid TMZ.
First, TMZ published a video of Malia kissing a boy later identified as her boyfriend, Rory Farquharson, before a football game between Harvard University and Yale.
Then, numerous articles delving into Farquharson’s background and how the pair might have met quickly followed along with a variety of tweeted criticism on everything from her friends’ loyalty to her date’s skin color.
And that was not it, on Friday a video of her blowing smoke rings quickly went viral after being published by Barstool Sports. While it was subsequently deleted, the video was still making the rounds on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram and the conversation and critics on Malia were ignited once again.

President’s daughters unite
As scrutiny and debate over Malia continued, a number of fellow first daughters also spoke out in defense of the young college student. Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton took to Twitter on Friday and asked people to “Be Better,” and respect Malia’s life.
Seconding the message came current First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, who also defended Malia’s right to privacy, and said her private life should be “OFF LIMITS.”
The informal society of presidential children has historically been protective of its youngest members, without regard for political party.
Malia Obama’s private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait. Be better.

Malia Obama should be allowed the same privacy as her school aged peers. She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits.

However, not only former and current residential first daughters stepped into the absurd conversation and the scrutiny on Malia’s private life. Former ESPN host and occasional Trump defender Britt McHenry tweeted that it was “not a partisan thing” to defend the former first daughter’s privacy.
Also, right-wing figures such as Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and blogger Mike Cernovich both urged their followers to leave the teen alone. “Malia Obama isn’t throwing shade or doing anything public, no reason to act as if she’s in this game. Civilian,” Cernovich tweeted.“Leave her alone!”
Scrutiny on Malia seemed rather unpopular on both political parties and also many corners of the internet.
Malia Obama is a 19-year-old acting her age at Harvard. She balanced being a kid and being First Daughter extremely well, despite unethical pursuit by the media.
If conservatives are worried about America's teens, they should stop adult men from dating 14-year-old girls.
