Remember Your Favorite Emo Kids From The 2000s? Well, This Is How They Look Like Now

Tons Of Black And Weird Haircuts

Puberty is a weird and confusing stage of life. But it’s also a key moment, especially in what music concerns. Since we find draw upon it in look for comfort and understatement. Also, it works as a channel for our “revelry”. But if there is one musical and cultural phenomenon that captured the angst, misunderstanding and many times weird nonsense of puberty, the emo one.

Tons of black and weird haircuts was what the movement was all about. As time past and you grow up so did the artists you admired, and from whom you copied their haircut and makeup. So just to bring back a bit of nostalgia, and probably remind you some shameful things you did, we are showing you 5 pictures of how your favorite emo artists look like nowadays.

5.Davey Havok from A.F.I.

Havok was totally a king of darkness. Who presented us some weird videos with a pseudo-nazi rally and a bunch “lost souls” in a snowy forest in “Miss Murderer” and “Love Like Winter” respectively.

Also, Havok looked like a freaking vampire, being the dream of many goths and emo girls. Now he is pretty much your average hipster with pompous hair.

4.Bert McCracken from The Used.

Another dude with a really dark hair and style. The Used’s lyrics were the anthems for most of the emo kids and McCracken was one of their messiahs. As he also has a singing voice that seems his souls has been torn apart.

Besides the lyrics and the look, McCracken was best friends with Gerard Way, another if not the most iconical emo lead singer. Despite the years passing and the emo movement losing its relevance he still has a wicked look.

3.Sonny Moore (A.K.A Skrillex) from From First To Last.

This is just one of those ironies life loves to put on. As the band’s lead singer went to be a disconformist outsider against society to produce music for “normal people.” The band was a total hit in the emo scene especially with an album called “Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count.”

Despite all that Skrillex or Morre, as you rather call him, has kept a bit of that emo aesthetics and dropping half the black in it. Also, showing us that he still loves heavy music since the dubstep that made him even more famous has some really heavy drops.

2.Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy.

One of the two kings for the emo kids all around the world. Also, his hairstyle became the signature for the movement. The bassist from Fall Out Boy even was a sex symbol for many. That’s the power of a weird haircut.

Now as he has grown up he has developed a more serious style. Looking a bit more like a dad with tons of hair gel than the angst and misunderstood soul he was.

1. Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance.

The king of the creatures of the dark and Hot Topic. Gerard Way was without a doubt the iconic figure for every emo kid. Another sex symbol for many and a total God for the angst teens. As he lead My Chemical Romance who’s lyrics were full of pain and understanding for the misunderstood ones.

Nowadays Gerard Way has lost the makeup, cut his hair, the black nail polish and has added a bit of color to his wardrobe. But forever he will be the king of the emo kids.
