All About The Golden Globes: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

I Think This Edition Will Leave Everybody Talking For A While.

Just like every year, the Golden Globes gave us some great moments. Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the show that took place on Sunday night was hilarious, it was full of deserving award winners, great productions but it got way more serious giving us a lot to think about of where the world is going.

The show aired by NBC had its political moments, Meryl Streep gave the most moving speech you could hear from an actress who genuinely cares for the world, Jimmy also did his part on mentioning president-elect Donald Trump. A lot of very tender moments were expressed during the event, it was full of surprises.

In case you missed the show, here’s a list of the greatest moments:

10. Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer presenting an award.

The co-stars of the film ‘Snatch’ that will premiere this year left us dying to watch the movie. The two were so funny when introducing the award to Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical you couldn’t help but laugh. The pair who play mom and daughter joked about Goldie forgetting her glasses and they were even in matching outfits. We loved them.

9. Chris Pratt on how he’s always been an actor.

A couple of actors were interviewed and asked about their first job, Viola Davis starter at the Bingo, another one was a waiter and many stories like these were told, except for Pratt whose first job was acting. He knew the answer wouldn’t adapt to the theme of the interview but he couldn’t even make something else up, he came up with “golf boy” like that’s not even a thing!

8. Reynolds and Garfield kissed.

You might have watched the show and miss this moment. It was almost impossible to watch but we caught them. When Ryan Gosling was on his way to the stage on the back, Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield had a “love moment” they smooched on the table for like two seconds, it was obviously a joke (we hope) and it was hilarious.

7. Kristen Wiig and Steve Carell.

These two are known for being incredibly funny and they proved it when they introduced the award for the best animated feature film. They told their stories of the first time they went to watch an animated movie, although Steve’s story was a little sad it was also great!

6. Brad Pitt’s surprise appearance.

This is the greatest thing of these types of events, anything can happen. Brad Pitt showed up at the stage for the first time since Brangelina ended and people were losing it. I’m still losing it! He was there to present a clip from the movie “Moonlight” that was nominated for best motion picture.

5. The cutest double win ever.

Donald Glover won two awards for his work at the series “Atlanta” both speeches were very personal, moving and sweet. The show had a few nominations and became one of last year’s favorite series. The comedy-drama is about a rapper who’s trying to make it in Atlanta’s musical scene.

4. Jimmy Fallon’s intro.

He’s just the best! He paid a tribute to one of the most nominated films of the night “La La Land” Fallon played the piano and sang for the audience, everyone from Meryl Streep to the star of the movie Ryan Gosling were cracking up. He also took a moment to sarcastically joke about Donald Trump who truly deserves to be mocked.

3. The winner of the night “La La Land”.

The movie starred by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone (favorite screen couple ever) beat records when they won seven awards. The young team was so cute they even shouted “We need to calm down! We’re so nervous!”. The musical written and directed by Damien Chazelle was the star of the night.

2. Ryan Gosling thanking his wife.

No one ever will be cuter and better than Ryan accepting his award for best actor for his performance in “La La Land”. He thanked Eva Mendes for all that she did while he was making the movie “I would like to try to thank one person properly and say while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer,” Without her none of this would have been possible.

1. Meryl Streep’s acceptance speech.

The iconic actress received the Cecile B. DeMill award and she took advantage of her acceptance speech to make everyone think a little more about the country’s situation. She expressed her concern for Donald Trump being the new president since he’s such a bad influence. At the end, Streep decided to close the statement with a quote by her dear friend Carrie Fisher, full of optimism she said ‘Take your broken heart, make it into art.’

What a show!
