This Guy Knew How To Sing

When a legendary star passes away all those who were inspired by it pay tribute. And this year with all the amount of loved stars that have died we have seen tons of them. Bowie, Prince, Lemmy and now George Michael.

But back in the day, around the early 90’s, Michael joined with history’s greatest band to pay tribute the greatest singer of all time: Freddie Mercury. It formed part of a charity initiative as Michael and Queen performed at Wembley stadium. In order to create conscience and fight AIDS, since Mercury died of it a year before.

Somebody to love.

The video is a rehearsal of Michael and Queen. The version of the classic rock song forms part of Michael’s EP Five Live. That was in support of Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity organization that fights AIDS, and as part of the Tribute To Freddie Mercury, who died of that disease in 1991.

Michaels version.

In this version, you can not only enjoy the legendary song but as well appreciate the incredible emotionality and vocals that Michael applies to it. Obviously, it isn’t Mercury but it still sounds amazing.
