Meet Dreamcar The New Supergroup Formed By AFI & No Doubt Minus Gwen Stefany

They Just Dropped Their New Single

Anyone ready for some emo-80’s revival? Well if you’re we have the perfect band for you, and no it’s not The Cure. Let’s face it, it’s kind of the same as goths. But it surely sounds almost as good as them.

It’s called Dreamcar and it’s a supergroup formed by AFI’s Davey Havok and the members of No Doubt, without Gwen Stefany. True it might be an odd mix due to the members, but trust us they’re really good.

The band was first formed in May of last year. Rumors sparked of Havok taking Gwen Stefani’s role as the lead singer of No Doubt. But they turned out to be true, in a way. As instead of replacing Stefani, AFI’s frontman did start playing with all the other musicians of No Doubt to form this new supergroup.

It’s good to see that the other guys from No Doubt are keeping themselves busy especially if they’re doing it in this way.  Since we can also see what Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young are capable of, especially teaming up with Havok.

Keep on dreaming

The band has released two songs “Kill For Candy,” last month and now “Born To Lie.” Both songs have a really incredible 80’s vibe, what it seems to have been a really influence on both Davey and the other members of No Doubt. But their latest one has a more AFI sound beyond the fact that Havok is singing.

The band has already revealed that their album will be released on May 12th, and will be homonymously titled. Along with that, the band has revealed their 12 songs and they will be debuting on stage with an appearance at Coachella as well as a full tour. We will have to wait to see what other sounds the band explores since Stefani said her former bandmates “wanna be in a punk band.”
